The splash screen on Office 2000 on one of our users PC's shows an incorrect name. I think the resolution is to enter her correct name in the screen which appears when you first run Outlook where you have to enter your name and initials.
I have deleted her profile, and there are no .pst or .prf...
I have a couple of users who like sending test prints to a particular printer in the mornings.
Normally, I would cancel a print job by doing
cancel report-xxx (where xxx is a number)
However, when I do this, the command prompt does not come back to me. When they send 50 test prints, this means...
The modem on our Unix box has broken.
I have a support engineer trying to dial into our Win2k server and then telnet across into our Unix box. This works fine when the person dialling in from a Windows machine.
However, he has a Unix machine, and is unable to "talk" to the Windows box properly...
Is it possible to view which sites individual users are accessing?
I'm using an MS ISA server which uses the groups setup in AD on a different server. I'd like to know user by user, who is accessing what sites, and at what time.
As far as I can see, at the moment I can only see the Top 25...
Hi,
Sorry...another problem.
My GUI will not work on the Unix box. I have rebooted several times, but it just falls over.
I don't really care about this as I work off the command line anyway....but it means that I cannot add a new user.
I am trying to use the command 'useradd' but I am...
I'm running Tru64 Unix. My network is running at 100 MPS half duplex, the box itself is running at 10 half, which is causing severe clashes.
I can change the speed of the tru64 box using lan_config. However the network needs to be rebooted before the changes take effect (I think...please...
I don't really want to cross post....but I've been referred to this forum :)

shows my basic problem....
I'm fairly certain it's a DNS problem, and that if I flush out the DNS from the Win98 machine, hopefully it will rebuild...
I have a handful of Win98 machines running on a primarily Windows 2000 based network. My file server (which acts as a dns server) is running on Win 2k SP4, with Active Directory.
We've recently changed IP range and subnet mask.
Some Win98 machines are fine and are logging onto the domain...
Installed ArcServe client on my Win 2k server.
It made the server blue screen (I've never seen Win2k blue screen before!!! :o) )
So we removed every part of ArcServe we could find.
Everything I can find has now been disabled as well (from the services pages), but when I boot in full blown...
I think I'm being a bit thick here....how do I change the speed at which my network card is running?
I've found out the car is:
tu0 DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet Interface
auto negoatiaion off: selecting 10BaseT (UTP) port: half duplex.
Now, the network is running at 100MPS, and I *think* it's...
If you have a bunch of network printers set up on a network, what is the route that the Unix box will take when you send a print?
I always thought that it went to the printcap file, which then directed it to the hosts file so it knew what IP to print to.
But, my Sco box doesn't have all the...
Sorry....
Really silly question!
I've searched but can't find an answer....
I had two printers printing off one print server (had to keep swapping the cables). This wasn't ideal, so I bought two new print servers. I've changed the IP address on the print servers to 192.168.44.15 and...
I'm having problems with my work network.
I need to restart a printer, and from my TRU64 box I type:
lpc disable netport1
lpc stop netport1
lpc start netport1
lpc enable netport1
lpc restart netport1
What are the commands for a sco 5 openserver box?
I've tried lpr disable, lpc disable, lpadmin...
