This email has been doing the rounds on NTBUGTRAQ and i thought it might be a good read for a few people in this forum.
With the advent of XP SP2 and the recent MS05-019 patch, using raw
sockets for scanning from a Windows platform has proven to be very
problematic. I thought I would...

I created an MSI for DX9 a while ago and it has worked fine untill now, the problem is that we need to move to 9c and as DX9 cannot usually be uninstalled i'm a bit confused about how to remove it. Shall i remove it from the MSI list on the OU so it 'uninstalls' but it doesn't really then add...
Any news on weather or not there will be an SP5 or will there just be a security update pack? Does anyone have any idea what may be included in this, i suppose the inclusion of the Windows firewall is unlikely.
Cheers.

Can anyone answer a couple of ISA 2004 config questions that I seem to be having problems with.

We are using Symantec corp 9 on about 400 PC's and i've found it to be great. The only problem i'm having is that it's really slowing down about 30 PC's that are of a lower spec than the others, i've put them into a separate group and am thinking about setting the Heuristics to a lower setting...
Does anyone know of any new features for managing USB pen drives in XP SP2 or are the same old problems present. I would like a way of blocking their use on certain PC's but not on others without having to fiddle with the BIOS on each PC.
Anyone know?
Cheers.
