PC in coma
My PC has new motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, HD. It has worked perfectly for a few weeks since built. Turned it on this evening and little sign of life. Hard disk constant accesses
I have recently purchased 2 Samsung Spinpoint hard drives (HD160JJ for a newly built PC. The second disk is just for backups. The drive makes a low tick sound whenever the HD light comes on. It is apparently seeking something even if I am not asking it to do anything - probably about 0.8...- radiogram

Windows Update stopped working
Until a month ago, the Windows automatic update worked fine. Now it fails with error 0x800A0046 - which seems to be a VBSCRIPT RUNTIME error. New XP install & partitions
I would like to install XP on a new machine. It will have one big hard disc of about 180 Gb. I would like to have just two partitions - C: for programs and data and Z: XP I want C: because it is easy to install programs which insist on C: etc I want XP out of the way.
