I know this could be done with 5.5 but I am am not sure how to do it with 2000. What i would like to do is have the email address automatically be assigned in a certain format. first letter of the first name and then the last name (Bob Jones would be bjones@domain.com). How can i do this with 2000?
I just demoted a DC that was also a GC (I do have another one)and now when people open up outlook it is asking for there username, password and domain. When i put in the correct info it says that they are incorrect. Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

I have a user who is sending an email to a list of users (internal only) with the subject Cocktail Party. The users get them fine but when they reply or click "accept" most of the replies go straight to the senders deleted items folder. I took a look at her rules and she has nothing for the...

For the past couple months I have been researching disaster recovery for E2K and one thing i learned is that its not easy. I was wondering what procedures you guys have in case your server goes down? We have about 180 users on one exchange server. we have 2 domain controllers with one being the...
I just noticed this yesterday. I went to add a user and it asked me if i wanted to create an exchange email address. I said yes but when i click on the properties of of that user and selected email addresses nothing was there. Usually it lists the SMTP address, CC MAIL, X.400, etc. Now it is...

I was looking at my event app logs and noticed an event by nibbler. One says:

another says:

I know this should be a simple solution but i am stumped. We have a user who recently go married so she is now going to hyphenate her name (Mary Jones Smith). I renamed her account in ADUC to reflect the changes and gave AD about 10 minutes to replicate the changes. When i send her and email...
If we reboot our GC or if the power goes down for that server we are unable to access our exchange server (i know this is normal and exchange relies on the GC), but is there a way to bypass this so that we can still access exchange while the GC is being rebooted or turned off?
I have had several users complain to me that their computers are very slow. When I look at the processes the explorer.exe process is running @ 99%. If I reboot it goes away, but during the next reboot or a couple after it will go back. Has anyone had this issue before? I checked for spyware...
For the past week I have had a few people complain of delayed mail. Some by a few hours and a couple by a few days. I do not see where the exchange server would hold messages. But is there a way for me to check this out? We do have a firewall and a Mcafee web shield and perhaps one of the two is...
In the SMTP queue area this is all the outgoing emails correct? If so, how can i see what emails have come in from the outside and what has been processed and not processed?
YEsterday I had 2 people complain to me that they were not recieving emails from the outside. I went ahead and tested this from an outside email account and sure enough it never got to the user nor did i get a bounce back message. I have been checking the logs, but i dont know what to look for...
