Hi folks.
I'm trying to remove our old domain controller from the network, and have tried to configure a new server to take over its role.
The problem I have is that when I take the old server down, it kills the network. Nobody can browse anything - it asks for a user/password (which doesn't...
Hi folks.
I have some test servers, on of which I installed ex 2007 32 bit, the evaluation download from MS.
I demoted the server to a non domain non AD station, and now Exchange won't uninstall.
Any option but to reinstall 2003?
Fuzzy question of the week here . . .
We have a 5.5 box with a bunch of users, that works fine for what we need. We have OWA, again perfectly adequate.
But (and here's where I'm fuzzy) - if we have a couple of users who spend most of their time out of the office, and have Blackberrys, is it...
Wonder if you can help me here, I have been trying to solve this for weeks.
I have been receiving bounce notices for a few emails to certain domains for a while.
Last week ALL mail stopped going out (incoming is fine), so I spent the weekend working through the problem.
Partial success; I...
I have a server that runs NAV corporate 10, which was installed from an old AV server.
The old machine doesn't exist any more. I now want to remove NAV from the running server, but it asks me for the password for the old server. When I enter the password, it just tells me the password is...
I have a wesite that I have installed a shopping cart for, all of which seems to work OK other than going directly to the shop.
When I go to http://www.mydomain.com it's fine.
When I go to http://www.mydomain.com/shop , the address in the browser changes to http://mydomain.com/shop , and the...
Odd one this. I have set this up several times before, but this time I've missed something.
Setting up a test network for some upgrading, I've installed 2 x win2k servers, with all recent service packs, Arcserve 2000, with sp5 on one server (pdc), and exchange 2000 sp3 on the other (bdc).
I...
As always, I find Symantecs website to be totally impenetrable . . . wondered if you chaps could give me some help.
I have NAV corporate 7.5 on my 2k network, and am very happy with it.
I am planning at the moment to upgrade to 2.3k, exchange 2007 and ISA server 2006. All clients will be XP...
I have a bit of a conundrum, which basically means I need to run Exchange on the PDC - explanation is below if anyone is interested, but off the top of your heads, is there a yes/no for this one?
OK - reason for this (stop reading here if you're bored) . . .
I have 2 servers, and am installing...
It is a stupid question, but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere.
I have a pair of Proliant ML110ga servers, with the Intel d 935 processor. I am running Win2003r2 on them, but I need to upgrade to the x64 versionto install Exchange 2007 - the production version doesn't run on 32bit...
Well, obviously it may *not* have backed up ok, but . . .
I'm running a daily backup of an exchange 5.5 server, and Arcserve is reporting the backup as OK, the .ctf files on the backup media look fine (around 23gb for the public folders), but I manged to delete a public folder, so want to do a...
I have a small network (10 users on XP, 3 servers), running 2k. There's an exchange 5.5 server, and a raptor firewall.
All the server side is going, to be replaced by 2003r2, exchange 2007 and ISA server 2006.
I'm thinking it'll probably be simpler to just do a clean install, rather than try...
Having some trouble here.
I have;
A G5 powerpc, on which I have configured a firewire connection using ip address 192.168.1.1, mask 255.255.255.0 no gateway.
The Mac also has a NIC, with a fixed IP address connected to a cable modem, which works fine.
A Windows XP laptop with a 4 pin...
I'm probably asking a question here that can only be answered with an RTFM or similar, but here goes.
I am having a lot of transient errors on web browsing on our network. Users are often failing to connect to webpages, then 5 minutes later, everything is OK.
I have a Win2k network, connected...
Slightly confused . . .
I installed a second server yesterday, onto which I'm replicating our public folders.
The public info store on the new machine shows the folder resources, and according to the number of messages, it's fully replicated.
But the total K of the folder seem to be limited...
I have a cranky old machine running Exchange 5.5, and want to upgrade the hardware.
If I install 5.5 on a new machine, as part of the same site, is it enough to just do a full replication then move users to the new machine, before taking the old one down?
I know I can try it and see, but I'd...
I bought a pair of IBM X06 servers a while back, which came with 2 x 33gb SCSI disks in each - so far so good.
They both have IDE CD-Roms, and everything works OK, but I have some large capacity IDE disks which as far as I can tell, can't be used.
Is that correct?
If I put an IDE hard disk...
Hi all,
I`m having a problem here, and I thinmk it's a DNS issue, which is something I'm not really an expert in.
My setup is more or less;
Exchange 5.5 server sends mail to smtp server (with mailfilter), which sends to a raptor firewall, then out to the world.
This was all working OK, until...
Bit mysterious here.
I have a Win2k server machine that is stand alone - I'm using it for testing / practicing setting up, but it won't pick up an IP address from a Linksys router.
I have just one of the 2 NICs enabled, TCP/IP installed, set to use DHCP, but it just won't.
If I enter the IP...
I'm confused here . . .
I have a win2k AD network, internal IP addresses are 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.255 (not all used, of course).
I have a local server called 'main.mydomain.com', with IP address 10.0.0.1
On the outside (via MS ISA 2004 firewall), our ISP runs a mailserver for us. It is called...
