Hi,
I am a graphic designer working primarily in print and am now making my first steps in web design. (actually my second, as I have made a very basic flash site many years ago)
I am a bit uncertan as to how to approach web design as there are seemingly endless ways to build websites...
I want to allocate the "Tab" button as my key command for hiding all palettes in FH9 (as this is the command I use in Illustrator).
But FH doesn't seem to let me use this particular key for a key command.
Any ideas on how to get around this?
Thanks.
Is there a feature or tool for creating tables in Quark?
Up until this point I've been using the line tool to create grid etc, , surely there is a more efficient way of doing this.
How do you make tables? Is it just easier to draw them as vectors (Illust/Freehand) and import the grid and then...
This has remained one of the eternal mysteries of illustrator for me. If someone can answer this I'll be impressed!
Whenever I convert a lower case "i" to outlines to try to colour the fill of the dot a different colour to the stem of the "i", illustrator changes the colour of both the dot and...
I normally work in printed media, so please forgive me if this seems like a basic question.
What are the primary advantages designing a site in
DW has when compared to designing a site in Flash?
Thanks in advance!
I know something like this be much better suited to a 3-D program but is it possible to do such a thing accurately in Illustrator?
The image I have in my head is purely using black and white space, to cleverly create the illusion of depth.
Could someone tell me if this is: A.) impossible...
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone on this forum has used pattern fills/swatches in Illustrator and gone to press.
I'm hesitant to use this feature of the program because I'm uncertain as to how a RIP would interpret the vector data.
Could someone please share their knowledge/experience with...
I'm working on a large file in PS 4, and I can't access the following filter menus: Artistic, Brushstrokes, sketch, texture and video.
My file is quite large (450 MB), and I could access these filter menus when I was working on a lo-res version of the same image.
Does Photoshop prvent you from...
Hi,
I'm using the "Cut Out" filter, which has a preview box.
However, the preview is not matching the result which occurs after applying the filter.
The filter preview shows a given section to have say, 4 distinct tones, yet when I apply the filter the said area is a singular, flat...
Unfortunatley, due to a client with unrealistic expectations, I'm in the situation of having to use a lo-res image at A3 poster size.
The image is 72dpi @ 360mm x 450mm, and therefore aboput 100mm when at 300 dpi.
Fortunately, I can stylise the image quite a bit, so as to conceal the poor...
Somone told me not to use pattern fills as they cause problems when printing, as the fill contains no actual path information.
Sounds like that would make sense, but I'd like a second opinion on the matter.
Also, if anyone knows a way of succesfully utilising pattern swatches in there print...
Is it possible to create tints of a CMYK colour, in the same way you can have tints of a Pantone, shown as a percentage of the master colour?
I am aware that if you hold down the "shift" button while adjusting your CMYK sliders the other three sliders will move relative to the slders...
Is it possible to add a certain percentage of a colour (C,M,Y,K) to mulitple objects which are different colours?
For example, if I have 50 squares, all different colours (CMYK), and I decide I want to add 10% Black to all of them.
How do I do this without having to change the colour of 50...
How do you apply a corner radius to an object once it has been drawn?
Firstly, if I had a rectangle on screen and then decided to apply a corner radius of a specific value - can this be done without having to draw a fresh corner radiused rectangle?
Secondly, if I had an angular shape which I...
This is not strictly a Quark question, but rather a typographical one.
I have an image with a runaround, which sits centered in the gutter between two columns of text. Is it preferable to use:
a.) Justified alignment on both columns of text, so that each coulmn of text follows the curve of my...
As LZW is a non-lossy form of compression, why would'nt one utilise it every single time one saves a TIF?
Is there any instance in which you should not use the LZW compression?
Thanks in advance.
Could someone please point me in the direction of a link which provides detailed typographical guidelines for handling line breaks in text.
Thanks You.
Hi.
Whenever I create a duotone image using two Pantone colours, (for example a yellow, and a blue) I can never choose say, pure Pantone yellow or pure Pantone blue, as a brush/tool/selection colour.
Photoshop colour palette only allows me to choose tones that would appear if both colours were...
I'm not familiar with this term, so what does it mean and what are the implications of the various options this function gives? (defualt, perceptual... etc.)
I'm having some problems with how monotone images appear on screen and print once they have been distilled, and think that the solution...
