Info on XP startup and login
I am still having trouble with XP machines not logging in. But this time i am after information. I need to know what XP does before the login prompt and after. Also when does it send out a dhcp request and when it established connection to the network. Thanks to all that have helped me so far.- damienlong

XP getting DHCP lease every login
I have already posted this on the XP forum so if this seems familiar thats why We are using NT Server 4.0 with service pack 6, our workstations are XP and NT. the NT workstations get their dhcp lease and its set to last 9 days and then they renew the lease. XP getting DHCP lease every login
Our XP workstations are getting a new DHCP lease everytime they are turned on. We are running a NT 4.0 Domain controller and the NT machines on the network get a new lease when their current lease expires. We have the leases set to expire every 9 days, but the XP machines get a new licence...- damienlong
