I am running Windows XP Pro, and I'm having a conflict with a certain program that needs to play MIDIs. For some reason, the program isn't detecting my current driver, although it is detecting an MPU401 and a Microsoft MIDI mapper. Neither of those seems to produce any sound.

My problem is rather weird. Usually I'm pretty good at determining where my problems lie with the comp, but this one has me totally stumped. It might even be various separate problems for all I know.

Ok, I've recently purchased a new system, which I'm using with drives from my old system, so first, I'll sum up what I have:
socket a mainboard k7som+ motherboard (new)
integrated AMD duron 1800
300w power supply (new)
256MB DDRAM (new)
4.5gb HD (old)
2gb HD (old)
floppy, CDRW (old)

alright, I'm tiring of this cyrix at 200mhz, so it's time to get a new computer. However, I have little money to spend, and I pretty much have all the components I'll need.
