2007 Compatibility pack - Context Menu

We still run Office XP on our Citrix servers and have installed the 2007 compatibility pack too. The problem we're having is the "Save As" Explorer context menu option. Some of the users are using this on Excel files and it messes them up because they don't understand what's happening when...

    Sites and Services issue

Win2k3 domain - native mode. We have 2 sites in our domain, one has all the subnets except one. The other site has one subnet and 1 DC. The problem we're having is that a lot of the machines in the subnets in the big site are trying to get to the DC in the site with only one subnet. The main...

    Trust relationship question

We have a production domain (2003 native mode)and a domain in the DMZ (2008 native mode) that is working fine though we have to iron out a few port issues on the FW. The trust is one-way, DMZ trusts Production. We watched the FW logs and saw that when a Prod user was logging onto a DMZ server...

    Trust relationship

I'm trying to set up a trust between a native mode 2008 domain and a native mode 2003 domain. It's a one way forrest trust with 2008 trusting 2003. Should this work? Has anybody tried this? Any pointers or gotchas?

    Performance Alerts Issue

We have a set of performance alerts set up on over 100 servers. The alerts use the credentials of a local account (using the system default was not allowed). The local account was never supposed to have its password changed but, due to some new security standards, it will be changed. Is there...

    Idle time out???

Windows 2003 Servers running PS 4.0 I've gone in and set the idle time out to 70 minutes for both RDP and ICA. I've checked for GPs that might affect it but I can't figure out why the setting is not taking affect. Anyone?

PS 4.0 Conference Manager - connection limits?

Is anybody aware of any hard set limits on the number of attendees that can join a conference?

    OWA question

We have a situation where OWA is setup to use the credentials of whoever's logged in to the computer to pass through. This works fine. What we need to do now is to enable prompted logons for specific users and I was hoping there would be a way I could do it so that I don't have to disturb the...

Citrix 4.0 and Windows 2008 AD

Does anybody know if PS 4.0 is compatible with Win2K8 AD? I get nothing in Google on this and searching the Citrix site is rarely helpful. We need to add a win2K8 DC to the domain, we're currently running in Win2K3 native mode and could leave it that way for a while though we'll eventually...

    Group Policy Preferences Problem

Win2k3 domain, using Win2K8 server to build policy. I'm trying to create a custom preference policy for XP machines (CSE has been applied) to create and manage Power Schemes. I've also created scheduled tasks to trigger the updates to the schemes at the appropriate time. The scheduled tasks...

Pass through authentication for Program Neighborhood

PS 4.0 on windows 2003 servers. Clients are mostly 9.x I'm trying to enable pass-through authentication in Program Neighborhood. The option in Settings - Logon Information for Local User | Pass-through authentication is grayed out. I've tried tinkering a bit with pn.ini but I'm not sure what...

    Single Sign-On through web interface

I'm running PS 4.0 and I want to enable single sign-on for users coming in through the web interface. I know about the setting in the Web Interface to enable it. I also know about the 2 entries that are needed in user's appsrv.ini files too but I was wondering if there's a way to enable it...

    Preferences question

According to a webcast I listened to, Preferences nodes should show up in the the GP Editor on a Windows 2008 machine. I'm not seeing any. We have a 2K3 domain and according to the webcast that shouldn't matter. Any body else seen this?

    No security tab

We've had rare occasions where the security tab on a file is missing and we have no rights to it all. It has nothing to do with the "simple file sharing" setting in XP, we're doing this on the server. The file in this case is desktop.ini in a user's profile directory, we can see the tab on...

2007 compatibility pack -> right-click option in explorer

We use Office XP and 2003 and have installed the 2007 compatibility pack on many machines. We've discovered that it has added an option in the Windows Explorer right-click menu (Save As) when selecting an office file like Excel. We're finding that when some files are converted they don't work...

Old Wyse terminal won't connect to 4.5 farm

I just tested an old Wyse 3360SE and a 3125SE(CE) in preparation for my upgrade from PS 4.0 to 4.5. They connect without problem to the production 4.0 farm but won't connect to the 4.5 test farm. They both have the latest firmware. Newer Wyse terminals have no problems. We had similar issues...

Database changes during Upgrade from 4.0 to 4.5?

Does anybody know if there are any database modifications made during the upgrade process? I'm wondering how important a db backup is. I'm going to do one before I upgrade the first server anyway but I'm just curious how important it is.

    4.5 - stollen sessions?

I have 4.5 set up in a test environment and everything seemed to be OK until I connected to the web interface from a client machine and launched an app then went to another client machine and logged onto the web interface with the same user ID. The app I launched on the first client suddenly...
