installed samba for a test then uninstalled. I have tried to reinstall today and i cannot get ./configure to work (no gcc or cc in path) I have /usr/local/bin in path and a symb link from gcc to /usr/bin. Root cannot find gcc but normal account can find ./gcc. Has uninstall done this, it worked...
i am trying to install smaba 2.2.8a in /opt using gcc. when i try to run configure (as root) in /opt/samba2.2.8a/source i get an error canot find gcc or cc in path. i have inserted /usr/local/bin/gcc into the path. and i'm on solaris 8 any ideas please.
when using xstart for a decterm all of the font sizes are fine apart from one term which is really small. how can i adjust the size in just the one term?

w2k to solaris 8 using hummingbird v8. when loging in using xdmp broadcast or a x term the blue and white solaris logo is on for ages and stays on in the background even when the xterm is open. only a few machines do this the others are fine.
