    Linked Files in Act! 6

After a server reorganization, a user's document links in Act! still point to the old, no longer valid location. Will she need to manually re-do all of the links, or is there an easier way? I'm pretty sure she's going to have manually re-do them, but I told her I'd check here in this forum.

Act 6.0 Problem- Lost my Toolbar on top

I'm having the same issue where I have users who lose their Menu toolbar in Act 6.0. The post referenced below had a link to a fix that no longer seems to work, and I'm hoping that Mike Lazarus might be able to point me in the right direction. thread892-1343865

Act! 2008 vs Act! 2008 Premium

I currently have 56 Act! 6.02 Regular users, six of whom are external employees who sync to one database, and 50 of whom are internal employees who manually enter data into a different database. Due to the number of users in the larger group, am I unable to upgrade to Act! 2008 Regular? Has...

Opening Excel Attachments in Offfice 2007

I have users who are unable to open .xls or .xlsx attachments from Outlook 2007 unless they already have an instance of Excel 2007 open. Has anyone else seen this? Typically what happens is that Excel will attempt to open, but nothing happens. They don't see the same behavior with Word or...

    Sysinternals question

I'm running Sysinternal's pgsetsid and trying to output the results to a .txt file. I've tried: C:\temp\pggetsid @sid.txt > results.txt where @sid.txt is the list of machines I'd like to query. I can run it without the > results.txt fine and see the results as it works at the command prompt...

    ActiveX and User rights

I have customers who are Users on their PCs having difficulty in Internet Explorer running a company-internal Web Client application that requires ActiveX. Has anyone had any experience giving regular Users rights for ActiveX without having to promote them to Power Users? Any help would be...

    Printing from Office 2003

Is there a way to turn off the system tray balloon that pops up to notify a user that a document has been sent to a network printer? It seems to bother some of my users, and I've not been able to find anything on Microsoft's site searching for print notification.

    Printing problems after patch installation

My location uses network print servers to establish printer queues. The drivers for the printers reside on the print server. After installing mass Windows 2000\XP patches via Shavlik, users lose their ability to change printing options such as manual feed, envelopes, etc. Removing and...

    Power Schemes for Users

Is it possible to set up Users with the ability to change the 'Turn Off Monitor' settings? In W2K, as long as the Administrator had changed it to something other than the default of After 20 Minutes, Power Users could also change it. I've not been able to duplicate that in XP with regular Users...
