The only thing that works is by going into Device Manager, uninstalling the DVD drive and then rebooting the system. Is there any way to fix this?

I built this system inside a mini tower case with a massive Qtec heatsink/fan assembly, which almost touches the power supply, so the fan may not be extracting the heated air very efficiently.

Before I switch my PC on, the LED on my screen shows orange. When I switch the PC on, the LED shows green while the system text messages come up. When the Windows XP start image comes up then the screen makes a slight clicking sound and goes blank, and the LED goes back to orange again.
