We are using BE 9.0 on a Windows 2000 machine and backing up to a snap server. Almost daily the Device shows off line and if I rename those two files and do a restart on the Veritas services the device is back. Is there a "fix" for this that anyone else has used to keep the devices on line?
I have an Exchange Server (Exchange 2000 and Windows 2000) and it was backing up fine until a couple of weeks ago. I am using Version 9.0 with the Exchange module and now seems to get almost to the system state and the Remote Agent shuts down. It is a single server backup to tape. The windows...
Is it possible to change the job ownership without uninstalling and reinstalling Backup Exec? If I change the default log on I still need the owners password to change the jobs.
Thanks
We are running a backup on an exchange server (Windows Server 2000 and Exchange 2000) on a Seagate tape drive and travan 10/20 tapes. The error is "Not enough free disk space for temporary catalog files". The entire job is only about 6 gigs and there is still over 33 gigs available as free...
We have an Exchange server with Exchange 2000 and running on Windows 2000. When the backup runs it gets to the mailboxes and the Remote Agent Service suddenly stops. Nothing is in the BE log other than the job failed. The windows log only says the Service terminated unexpectedly. The Event...
One of the servers developed an error that shows up in the Windows event log but does not seem to affect the backup. The backup appears to be 100% and I can restore, etc. Veritas' solution was to rename the bedssql2.dll file to a .old. After changing the name of the file I got a backup with...
Last week our backup started to fail because it was asking for another tape. The drive is an HP Surestore with 40 Gig DAT tapes. The OS is Windows 2000 Server. Everything has been fine for a few months. I checked the compression is set in the job descriptions and on the drive itself. I...
We got this for two nights but now everything seems to be working 100%. Does anyone know what would cause the failure? The message: A failure occured while scanning the objects contained in \XXX\User\Local Settings\ etc.......
Yesterday our Exchange Server backup failed with the message "Unable to attach to drives." This is the Microsoft Exchange mailboxes. The error code is a000848c HEX. We are using Exchange 2000 and BE 9.0. Any suggestions why this would happen and any suggestions to fix it?
Recently my SQL server has been giving me a failure on the nightly backup. I get a message:

Out of 11 servers We have one (Windows Server 2000, Seagate drive, and BE version 9.0) that the backup job runs fine. Everything backed up from the drives shows in the restore so I know that is working. This is more of an annoyance since it is the only one doing this. The database maintenance...
I have one server running Version 9.0 that almost every day gives me the following error which seems to be more of an annoyance. Everything backs up fine but won't perform the maintenance only on rare occasions. Any ideas why?
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Backup Exec
Event Category: None...

Upgraded a server to version 9.0 the latest (4454 I think) and this morning I have an error in the alerts. Everything backed up because I can do a restore if needed. The server does a reboot at 0300 and the error occurs at 0304. It is:
Description: Adamm Mover Error: Unlock Device Failure...
I inherited a database and to say the least it is a mess. I have to track attendance for certain days using a present, absent or excused. Does anyone have anything they have used in the past that might be close to what we might need? I have considered using Excel for the dates in a column and...
This is just a minor inconvenience but two of the ten servers send their email notification twice when finished. They send it whether they are successful or failed. I don't see any difference between their setup and the other eight. Anyone else run across this?
Thanks
Our SQL server, running 8.6 with the SQL module on a Dell Poweredge Server with a DLT tape drive - SQL 2000, ran fine for about a year and last night it didn't run. I checked the services and they did not start. OK, I checked the my passwords, etc and they still do not start. I get an error...
Does anyone know what this is? We have version 9.0 and it runs through the database management about 0400 after the auto reboot. I got this message:
Maintenance has failed: -1610579486, -1610579486: :: -2147467259:Cannot generate SSPI context
One of my servers has given me an alert in the database management that the maintenance has failed - cannot generate SSPI context. Any suggestions to make the DB maintenance do what it is supposed to which is delete the old alerts, logs, etc? Everything else seems to be working just fine. The...
We are using MS Exchange 2000 and backups go to a Seagate STT20000A with Version 9.0 release 4454. I used the system drivers instead of Veritas drivers after having some prior problems in the original setup. Everything had been working fine for months and now I get failures with no job log, no...
