Here is the scenario:
2 servers, both running w2k3. One with E2k3. This manifested itself as an Exchange 2k3 issue, but I think it is really a win2k3 thang - hence the cross posting to both forums.
The exchange server has 2 hard disks - c: for the system, and D: for exchange - everything...

2 servers, both running w2k3. One with E2k3.

Now - C: starts getting the odd bad block - so I figured I would add another HD and mirror both C & D, then...
Is it possible to block a (or a group) of users from sending external mail?
I still want them to be able to receive mail, but not send any. They can send within the company, but not to external domains.
Many thanks.

Scenario is:
At the company with this problem - the exchange server mobo went down, and was a week+ in being replaced. In the meanwhile, they installed E2k3 on a new machine - giving it the same name, and restored a backup of the data - they were not able to get this going. Not sure why, but I...
I have just setup a public folder as a mailbox (to get all my companies spam into one place).
The spam filter is the very good (and free) ORFilter from here:

Anyhow - I created a spam folder in my public folder tree to receive all the spam - but the...
I have just setup the nntp part of exchange 2000, allowing - in theory people in the organisation to view some newsgroups.
However, I mistakenly left the "*" in when selecting which newsgroups to add to the feed.
I have now downloaded *ALL* newsgroups - or at least the group names.
How can I...

Using SQL server and ADO.NET, how can I get the column names and the type that they store in a particular table?
Many thanks.

I am installing an exchange 2003 system for a client.
Their current system is a single window 2000 server. I will be adding a new win2k server with e2k3 on it.
Now, here is what I was gonna do:
Add new server to domain and promote to DC
Run forest prep and AD prep
Install e2k3 on new server...

On my domain I have at my disposal 8 public static IP addresses as well as the domain range that I use.
Let's say, for example, that my server is at 192.168.0.1 and that is running DHCP. All seems well on the network.
I now connect my network to the internet via a router - the router is at...
I can telnet port 110 and that gives me 6.0.6249.0, but what do those number pertain to? I am only asking as I want to ensure that I have all the latest SPs and updates.

When I put some tapes in my ADR2 - they do not "spin up" and the Remote storage manager thinks that there is nothing in the drive. Other tapes work fine though - any ideas anyone?
The tapes in question have been used in the past - and do not appear to be damaged in any way.

I have an ADR2-120 device...which just stopped working. I had no idea what the matter was. The fact that it was in warranty was no use either - they have gone bust!
Anyway - this link solved the problem:

Hope it can help...
Here is the problem.
I have two app domains - one of which hosts class A - shall we say, and the other class B.
Now - class B has a static constructor that takes a while to initialise all the data - keeping the data in readonly static member data. This object is remoted - such that when the...
Imagine this scenario:
There are 3 dlls, each defining an object type - lets call these a,b and c.
A service includes these dlls in it's assembly - and registers them as well known objects.
So - a remote call wants to get an instance of 'a' - so this is created. But in the 'a' object there...
A client of mine has a Win95 Machine that she wants "nuking" and WinME installed.
That is fair enough.
The only data she wants saving are her emails - and her email account.
Her existing setup has a connection to her ISP (a free ISP, freeserve) - however she does not know her...
