I have two IP Office systems in separate campus buildings. The network is flat so I can't use the DHCP option tags to select the MCIPADD address. What I would like to do is put both IP Office MCIPADD addresses in the DHCP string and then let the 96xx phone figure out which one to use based upon...
I can't tell if the Message button on 1408 sets can be programmed. On some of my sites I have a voice mail service, on others voice mail pro. I'd like to always have this button to be for voice mail retrieval ... would need it to be a speed dial to the mail service toll free. Is this possible?
When the 4602 and 4620 phone first came out we used to be able to press * to access the ADDR function. If we ever had a bad static address or VLAN ID in the phone we could use this to unlock it and make a change. Is there any way to do this anymore? I've got a bad static address in a phone right...
We get "unavailable" for the calling party's number of the Call Log on 4610 and 460 phones when the call comes into a bridge appearance. It displays correctly when the call comes into a standard line appearance - the problem is only on bridged appearances. Anyone have a solution?
We from timte to time have a user moving from an 8410 to a 4610/4620 and complain that they can "hear themselves" in the earpiece. It is very low level and a little annoying, but the big thing is that it is just different than the old phones. Everything on the network is very good, firmware...
Does anyone know of a loud bell/strobe that uses power over ethernet instead of 120 Vac to power it? We use a lot of the Wheelock units but it is a heck of a lot cheaper to get a PoE cable to the locations than it is to get an electrician to install an extra electic outlet...
We've seen two things on firmware 2.3 on Avaya 4602 and 4620 phones. Both have been major issues for us. Has anyone else experienced these issues:
- When remotely upgrading a 4602 from firmware 1.82 to 2.3 the last reboot of the upgrade locks up the phone with a partial display and no dial...
I'm having trouble getting a Cisco ATA-186 to register as an Avaya H.323 station. Does anyone know the settings on the ATA-186 required? On ACM 3.0 do you need to set the network region authentication to auth-any?
Our S8700 has NTP time sync set up. All of our 4620 phones, PC, and DCP phones displayed perfect time until recently. We added 4 G700 gateways with DCP phones - these DCP phones are showing various times. One G700 has an LSP that does not have the NTP service set up. I'm going to change that but...
We are looking for a solution for small sites with 4 CO trunks, 2 to 4 analog stations, 5 to 20 46xx VoIP phones, all with BASIC local survivability. We use the G700/LSP a lot and have tried the Multitech. These would do the job but we'd consider a G150 or G250. Does anyone have any experience...
We have a lot of 4602 and 4620 phones in service and are generally pleased. We are looking at adding 4610 phones - what is your reaction to the 4610 versus 4620? Will we see any performance differences and will our user accept them well?
We also have a lot of G700 gateways. For some small sites...
I've got a PBX that needs to play an annoucement to our customers. I don't have space for an announcement card and the Audix is remote. On the remote switch I do have Audix and a VAL. I want to forward the call to the remote switch to play the announcement but I'm concerned about using all of my...
I have an application that requires a G700 behind a 1-to-1 NAT. The registration/signaling work fine, but I don't know if I can the RTP traffic to flow between the PBX medpro and the G700 VoIP engine. The Avaya documents describe how do this if the endpoint is an IP telephone but is silent on...
I have an S8700 location that doesn't want outgoing Caller ID information passed, except for calls going to 911. The trunk is a PRI SmartTrunk. I suppose I could carve a channel out and make a separate trunk group for 911 calls and send calling party information only on that trunk group. Is...
The Spectralink website shows that the latest Avaya 3616 WLAN phone software is 96.036. When you unzip the software it turns out it is really 96.032. Anybody have a real copy of 96.036? I've got a problem with 3616's not registering with an S8700 and supposedly this fixes it.
Has anyone tried to use Microsoft dialer.exe with an IP trunk? We've got a custom auto dialer that uses it through Microsoft TSP and it works great for ALL calls to both digital phones and IP phones within the building. When we go off to the PSTN SOME calls ring and connect on the far end but...
I've got an issue with some 4620 phones and think it may be date of manufacture related. Does anyone know how to get the manufacture date from the serial number - for example is the week number or month number embedded in the serial number string?
I need a work around until the modem relay feature comes out. I need a modem on one G700 to talk to another on a second G700. I was going to make a tie trunk between the two using MM711 ports. The problem is I can't find a configuration for CO tie trunks that work on the MM711. Any ever done this?
Is there any way to increase the minimum size of the jitter buffer on a 4620 IP phone? On a couple of my IP routes I get an ocassional burst of out of sequence packets with some discarded. These routes don't have full QoS yet. If the jitter buffer ramped up as soon as the burst started I would...
Does anyone know how to make use of IP trunks when you have an S8300 LSP in a G700 gateway? I have an S8700 multi-connect. I want to have an IP trunk from the S8300 LSP to another PBX to use as a tie line if the S8700 is lost. I can't create the IP trunk because the only valid near-end node...
