Trying to install a Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision SE on my Vista Home Premium. Before the install is through, I get a message:
"Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or...
Hi. Having trouble with formatting the Hitachi 1Tb drive in a D-Link NAS. It stops at 94%.
D-Link says to test it inside my PC, and see if there are bad sectors.
Hitachi has a "Disk Fitness Test." But it's a nuisance to get to work for me, it's just difficult to boot from and generally hasn't...
Using Windows Vista, once I put my computer in the "Low Power State", it seems to turn everything off (the power goes off, fans mercifully stop). When I turn it back on - everything comes back super fast and works great:
Except the NIC card, which IE 7 prompts me to reset. That takes a long...
This should be an easy one - I think.
When booting, I can access the BIOS with the delete key, but when presented with the choice of which OS to boot, either XP or Vista, I get no keyboard response, and it always times out into the new Vista install. So it's as if the keyboard is responsive at...
Every time I turn off my computer, and then turn in back on, the printer in the control panel goes off line and a new one is spawned. Now I have two, and the old one is the default and must be deleted and the new one made the new default.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!!!

I am using Windows XP Home edition -
I am trying to install additional Windows Components. It asks to "Ensure that the disk labeled 'Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM' is in the drive selected below, or provide the location where it can be found."

If I install XP to a hard drive that has data on it - it wasn't the system drive before - will the data be destroyed? Or does XP simply make a new directory and install there w/out destroying everything? THANKS!!!!

When I start XP and log into my name, most of the time it freezes before fully finishing the bootup. I'll see some of my desktop come up, and then at some stage (not the same everytime) it will freeze. I'll hard restart, a few times, and eventually it gets there. Other Uers on this computer...
My HP Laptop kept crashing whenever I loaded the new Java web plug in. Finally now, it won't let me log on. It boots to the screen "To begin, click your name" but lists no name. So it just sits there, until I click "Turn off computer." And it does turn off.
Any ideas...
