Situation:
Client had an old mouse, PS2, which would "smoothly scroll" when using the wheel. In other words, it would not jump line to line, just a smooth scroll of the page.
Replaced with an optical mouse (Logiteck) and the wheel jumps quite a few lines at a time, not smooth anymore...

Hi! Getting a Parvdm.sys error (shows up in the event manager). When this happens, the computer freezes and must be restarted. I did reserach on the web, downloaded a new "parvdm.sys", copied over the existing, and still getting the same result. This happens on average two to three times per...

Hi! Spyware, as we all know, is a major situation. I have been working with two pretty reliable, real time protection programs for spyware: webroot's spysweeper and sunbelt's counterspy. Both outstanding programs. However, they will only operate on users that have admin rights, nothing less...
Just really diving into group policies on a standalone machine here for the first time. I see that once you set the policy (enable X policy), that will apply for ALL users, including the administrator. In reviewing the XP Inside / Out book, it states that you can set administrator (or any...

Hi! My question is this: what is the best way to communicate that "we the web designers" will design the site, and not the customer? Case in point: contracted for a site, we put together what I feel is an awesome piece, with their colors, etc, but they had something else in mind. With that...
Hi to all! Having a situation where I run a scandisk on the C, reboot of course, it runs, finds NO problems, reboots to finish process, get the blue screen hardware error after the initial XP splash, but it flashes so quick you can't read it, and reboots. Comes up with either start normally...
Experiencing a major slow boot with W2K Pro (see my original reply to previous post). However, the only mode I can get into, besides safe mode, is Debugging Mode. All seems to operate well in debug mode. Is it possible to run programs in debug mode, including SQL 7.0 server, and be able to...

2)Delete / restart
