"detect network settings" does not work
On a windows 98se machine with IE6, the detect network settings does not work. I can ping by url name, but I cannot get the browser to go to any site. I have already reinstalled windows and renamed wsock32.dll and winsock.dll so they recreated. Any suggestions would be appreciated.- cbsmith5212

"Detect network settings" does not work
I cannot get a windows 98SE machine with internet explorer 6.0 to connect to the internet. I can ping sites by name so I know I can reach the DNS server, but no luck reaching the site with the browser. The machine did have problems that I fixed by reinstalling windows.
