    DR Solution

We are using a Citrix Box and an SBS 2003 at a single site on the same domain. I want to add another server to the network for performance and robustness. I've found out that you can't have two SBS on the same domain. Could I add a win2003 server that would replicate the SBS box or could I...

    Unable to see device

Vista. Downloaded some music off the internet and trying to download onto a phone that is connected to the laptop. I see the phone in the "My computer" as well as the other drives, etc, but when trying to use "save as", the phone device doesn't show. Is this a bug or is there something a miss here.

    Conversion to Java from Foxpro

I will be new to Java. I have Foxpro 2.6 apps and wish to port to Java. I wish to keep the *.dbf files in place, until I choose a database such as Derby, HLSQL, H2, etc. Is this possible without losing too much speed, otherwise I will have to port the tables at the same time as the software...

    Conversion Project

We have a set of projects built in foxpro 2.6 DOS/WIN. I want to upgrade these to VFP6, but as VFP will be no more in the near future and I can't bear to throw away all the old foxpro code and rewrite in C#. What I propose is to use C# as the front end, VFP as the middle layer and eventually SQL...

    2.6 -v- 6

I did a simple test to show the speed difference between fox 2.6 (win & dos) & Vfp 6. I did a simple "select * from table" on a large table and did it on all three platforms in random order a number of times. DOS averaged 0.11 secs, WIN was 0.22secs and Vfp 61.2seconds! Is there a problem with...

    Design

Should I design the architecture of my conversion, which I am writing from scratch, for the screen to hold no code, but to call a business object, which does the work. Or to stick to the 'old' method of using memory variables and having code 'embeded' in the form(s)? I don't plan to use SQL...

Conversion of Fox 2.6 (DOS & WIN) to VFP6

I am looking into converting our old faithfull 2.6 Fox Apps to VFP6. I am not going to do a partial convertion as this will take more time in the end, but I am puzzled by the best approach. I am in two minds as to go for 2-Tier, ie Form front end using business rules in objects, ie Customer...

I'm looking to purchase Delphi 7 or C++ Builder 6 for developement work. I come from a Foxpro background and I'm looking for a general purpose fast developement, database tool, and used by numerous people. Both have what I am looking for, but I can't decide on which to buy. Please give...
