    can't console in to bln 71000

    HI, I am new here. My Bay networks gateway router BLN 71000 died. Backup is in place, but I can't get in to the console port. My console port is a parrallel, book says to connect to serial port on a PC. I get no prompt with hyperterm or Tera Term. Thanks for any advice...
