    unable to send large ping packets

    I have a win2k machine that if I use the command: ping x.x.x.x -l 1700 (or any number larger then my MTU plus overhead) it times out. It seems to me that windows will not fragment any packets and then just drops it without trying to send it. Anybody ever see something like this? Thanks
