Backup Exec 9.1 on Dell Win 2k SAN, with Dell 136T tape libraries fibre-attached. We had some problems at first, but after several swaps of fibre-channel/scsi bridges and cables, backups worked for about 5 months.
We have had lots of problems the last few months, and this past weekend a Dell...
We are considering going to Netbackup on our new five host Dell FC600 SAN with a six drive Dell 136T LTO200/400 library (which I believe is actually a rebranded Scalar 1000). Does anybody have similar hardware? We would like to be able to back up Snapclones to tape on a differential basis...
Can't start the database engine. Keep getting Dr. Watson's in rds.exe. One of my colleagues initialized the astpsdat.db while I was on vacation, due to space needs. Since then, the database is unavailable. I have rebooted the server. I can't run dbcheck.exe or any utility. I would like to...
NT 4.0 Server running Arcserve 2000, sp4 on Arcserve. Runs two huge (350gb each) backup jobs simultaneously to a san attached Dell 136 tape library. Arcserve Database usually gets screwed up so I deleted astpsdat a couple of weeks ago. The backup jobs can run 36 hours sometimes; when I looked...
I have an existing install of Arcserve 2000 backing up a Lotus Notes server. It has the latest patches, and Lotus Notes Agent, and has always been pretty slow, but it has gotten slower even lately.
The latest glitch is that after killing a job while running, I cannot open the Arcserve...
I am using Arcserve 2000 with the Notes Agent and Backup Agent for Open files. Some nights my Notes database backup via the agent will be of 1000 databases/transaction logs and 300 gigabytes. The very next night it was 831 databases/transaction logs and 226 gb. Last night it was 698...
My users say they have not been creating any/many new databases lately, but my Arcserve results for daily backups will vary from 600 databases and transaction logs to 1,000. I am assuming that maybe the number of transaction logs open is what is varying, and that my backups are okay. Is this...
I want the backup job to name the tape when it starts the job, like Arcserve will. Ideally, it should have the Job name and Date, but I'd settle for just the date if that is all there is. I tried using switches in the job description, but nothing worked.
Thanks.
