    packet generator

    Hi, I really like the ease of use of the packet generator function inside of Sniffer Portable. Does any one know of a freeware/shareware software which does something similiar? That is ... the ability to take a .CAP file and shoot it out the Ethernet port? Thanks. Bill

    help with filters

    Hi, If I wanted to build a filter that checks for an ascii string that could appear anywhere in the tcp payload, how would I do this? The current filter mechanism only permits matching to a specific location (offset) in the frame or am I overlooking something? Thanks. Bill.

    Hello, Is the 4.7 .CAP file format backward compatible with earlier versions of Sniffer -- such as Sniffer Basic 4.5 and Sniffer Pro 4.0? On a similiar note, 4.7 allows you to save Expert Objects. Would Sniffer Basic ignore these Objects? Or would this .CAP file be un-readable by Basic...
