When I right click my C drive and go to properties then to tools and do an error check, it tells me it has to be in control of the files so it schedules it on the next reboot. When the reboot occurs, I get the scandisk\chkdsk screen but it then says it has been cancelled. Rebooting to a...

I am running XP Pro with SP2. Sometime after activating XP after the install, I installed a new video card and changed the zip drive from a 100 to a 250. Nothing happened as far as Microsoft detecting changes and making me reactivate. About 2 months later, I changed an internal PCI modem and...
I have Win 2K on C partition and XP Pro on F partition of the same hard drive. I am running 512 megs of ram. Should I by default have a swap file on both C and F partitions or should it only be on C partition? If only on the C partition, I assume XP would use that swap file if needed?
I am running XP Pro with SP2 installed and the system works normally when you do a normal boot. When I try to boot to safe mode, I get a BSOD with the error :

I have installed SP2 successfully and all is working good. Today I checked for updates and see this: "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1" listed. I would not download and install this update because I have already installed SP2? I wonder why it is showing up when my box clearly has SP2...
