I am the systems administrator for a non-profit organization. I have two identical Dell PowerEdge 1550 servers, both running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. We have just recently subscribed to a Microsoft licensing program, and with it came Windows 2003 Enterprise. So obviously, we plan on...
I'm currently on the road at a new facility my organization has purchased. They decided that they wanted the 10 machines at this facility to VPN back to our network over the Internet.
To make a long story short, I cannot get the VPN to connect to my business network from the facility. However...
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone else out there has installed multiple modems for use with RRAS on a 2K machine. I purchased 4 Conexant PCI modems and installed them.
Windows 2000 sees them and let me install the driver, but when installed, I get cannot open port for 3 of the 4 modems... Anyone...
I was just wondering if any of you have dealt with very loud fans on your Cisco switches. I have some 3500 series switches and a couple of them have some fans that could bust an eardrum.
If so, what did you do to fix the noise?
I was wondering if anyone else here uses File Access and Monitor software? I have a pretty mission critical network that is heavily confidential and I'd like to have better control on knowing who has accessed and edited files, and the like.
Is there any canned software out there that can do...
I have a very odd problem, which is more of an annoyance that occurs on a couple different machines on my network and randomly.
The problem is when someone goes to say File | Print, or File | Save As in various Office applications, the popup dialog box does not show up on top like normal, but...
Howdy all... Just a quick question and I'm sure you Exchange/Outlook experts can answer it.

Specs: 2 Dell PowerEdge 1550 Servers w/Windows 2K Advanced Server, MS SQL 2000, MS Exchange 2000 and running Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 with 1 HP DLT40 and 1 HP DLT70.
Everything was working decent, well, as good as Veritas can work until just about two days ago. I rebooted my backup server...
Just for background info, Windows 2000 Server domain, Exchange 2000 w/SP3 and clients using Outlook 2000.
My question stems from a problem that a couple of my users is having. When they switch folders, and then go back to the inbox, most of the messages in their inbox disappear. Also, a couple...
My CEO has recently handed down a request to disable Internet access (except to our website) and to disable the ability to receieve and send external email for a group of users here on campus.
I've read the Group Policy section in my Mastering Windows 2000 book and I've done a keyword search...
Okay, I've done nothing but fight with BackupExec since beginning to use it, but that is what we paid for, so I have to use it.
Anyway, everytime I run a scheduled job, I get unable to attach errors. The computer that backup exec is ran from is using the Domain administrator account. In...
Okay, here's the deal. I am running a single Exchange 2K server on my domain.
When users internally are sending messages with attachments, the attachments are unable to be opened. They usually look like <<blah.doc>> in the e-mail and are linked to something that says "outbind://"...
