    Copying 25 gigs of files at once, bad for drive???

    I am copying all my MP3's and movies, games to a new drive, and wondering if I might overheat something from so much copying in one shot. The files are being read from a 7200 RPM Maxtor, and are going to a 5400 RPM WD. I have the PC case off too.

    HDD and CD-Rom on same cable-good or bad?

    I am trying to setup a new system , athlon 2000+, with dual boot win98, and winXP....     Start/stop or continous run

    What's better for a hard drive motor, to run constantly, or to allow it to spin down when idle?. I have a 7200 rpm Maxtor drive in a PC that is always on, with an idle setting of 10 mins. Depending on what I'm doing, or some programs are doing, this means at least a dozen start/stops in a day...

    Win 98SE and Hardware Raid -on Asus mainboard OK?

    Will Win 98SE be compatible with an Asus motherboard with hardware RAID? I'm going to be upgrading soon, and considering the A7V266E-RAID with an AMD Thunderbird 1.3Ghz CPU. The last thing I want is BSOD's from "unknown hardware issues" [pc3]
