When I try to script the browse or retention time using the save command, I am unable to use "1 year" type of time date.
The command I am setting a variable to is:
/usr/bin/save -s legatos -c aixsn1.edward.org -b dd860n -w 9/28/2015 -y 9/28/2015
Here is the whole script:
set -x...
I want to restore a file "/etc/exclude.mksysb" from one client to a different client. the ssid # is 2685260614. I want to restore the file to a specific directory, "/mksysb/tmp"
my networker server name is: legatos
This is what I have tried but it errors out:
recover -d epcbkuppl01:/mksysb/tmp...
I am trying to skip a filesystem called "epic" and everything beneath it. For my directive I have:
<< / >>
+skip: epic
I still see the epic and everything underneath being backed up.
What am I doing wrong?
I am trying to change the retention and browse times with the following and getting an error:
C:\>nsrmm -S 1573307727 -e 10/02/2109 -w 10/02/2109
6240:nsrmm: invalid browse time: 10/02/2109
Why is the time invalid?
I have a tape drive where networker is trying to do anything with it i get these messages in the log:
media warning \\.\Tape# opening: access is denied.
\\.\Tape# read open error: access is denied.
It was fine last week. This just started happening.
I have alerts that Networker is waiting for a volume labeled 'Default'. I have plenty of empty tapes that should be used as designated by media pool settings for my other pools. What should I be looking at to see why Networker is asking to mount a volume called 'Default'?
I have several tapes in my jukebox that are showing up as "not in media index". I recently updated Networker to 7.4.4. How do I scan the tapes to see what is on them or to get them back into the media index?
OS: 2003 SP2
Networker: 7.4.2
Incident: 2 weeks ago our time server spit out a time 4.5 years into the future. We fixed the time server problem within a couple of hours, but not before clients reset their time to the bogus time.
Problem: It appears any client that started when the...
How can I control which volume(s) is used to backup client indexes?
Client file indexes suddenly started being backed up to a pool which I do not want them written to. How can I control this?
Sometimes I get this message:
Skip building named instance directory because there are no named instances installed or running on this machine.
Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?
I have media labeled Default and Valcomars. The groups I want to use the Valcomars tapes are explicitly set to use Valcomars tapes. For some reason my other groups not associated with any tapes are no longer using the Default labeled tapes but using the Valcomars Tapes. Am I missing something?
How can I find out what is in the jukebox i/o ports? When I withdraw tapes I would like to verify that the correct tapes are waiting for me in the i/o ports to remove.
I have a file server with 9,282 small files. The total backup size is 389GB. It takes around 22 hrs. I have 3 LTO-2 drives and HP DL380-G4 server with 4GB ram. All are attached via fiber channel. What can I do to try to speed up the backup?
This is the error I am receiving:

Any Ideas?
I am trying to pass a variable to an html page from a vbscript. Not sure if I can use command line parameter when opening html page. For example: I want a user to select the name of a compter from a list and then the vbscript run the command "testpage.html computer".
Is this possible?
I am having trouble getting a listing of all volume set to expire on any chosen day. I am using mminfo to try to retrieve the information. My command line is as follows:
mminfo -m -q"volexp=07/01/04"
and
mminfo -m -q"volexp>06/30/04,volexp<07/02/04"

I am trying to get a list of tapes that were used for a backup on a particular day. The command line I am trying is:
mminfo -m -t "05/21/04"
or
mminfo -m -q"savetime=05/21/04"
They both return either an error or that no media was found that fit the criteria.
someone help me please.

I am currently creating simple spanned volumes in windows 2000 with the disks presented from my Symmetrix 8830. My question is: Will I see greater performance if I create volumes using raid 0 or raid 5?
