I am wanting to set up a DNS on a SCO server to be able to FTP files to ftp sites on the web directly from the SCO server. I would appreciate any tips or instructions or web sites to help get this going.
I am creating a report and outputing to a filename. I can't get the current date on the filename because of the report writer limitations. How can I get the current date on the file?
I am using a mount command in a script to load a file(s) from a CD and if it doesn't work we have to reboot the system to get the mount command to go away. How can I kill a mount process when the kill -9 does not work?
I superuser into an application and when I try to exit that application I lock up and do not come back to a command prompt. Does anyone have any idea's?
I am trying to remove the portion of this login(tty22): that syas (tty22). I am on an RS6000 and cannot tell if it can be removed by the port or if I need to go into /etc/profile or if it is a smit variable I can change. Any helpful hints would be great. Thanks ALL.

I have an RS6000 that has a tape drive that shows as defined. I need to make this available so I can do a full system backup. I would appreciate the command to do this.
When using the cpio command is there a way to put a date and time stamp at the beginning of the backup tape? When putting date sensitive material to a tape it would be helpful to be able to read a time and date stamp rather than wade through multiple files to check for the most current date.
