Bit of a strange problem has presented itself in my Exch2003 mailbox backups (v8). 3 mailbox servers, 2 work fine and the 3rd working fine up to a couple of weeks ago. Config same on each.
Mailbox backups split into multiple SubClients depending upon mailbox, i.e. A*-C*, D*-G*, H*-K*, L*-Z* &...
...either software or hardware encrytion. I'm looking to get some examples of the performance hit that would be experienced with encryption.

Anyone come across a problem like this before? I have a Windows 2000 backup running default subclient with '/' content and System State included - it will run to a certain point and then fail with a 'Connection reset by Peer' error. When I remove the System State from the content it works fine...
Apologies if this isn't the correct forum....but, I'm having an issue with some tape drives at the minute. I have 10 tape drives on a SAN fabric, but my host can only see 8 of them. The 2 that are missing where previously available, until we had a power issue on our the tape library at the...
I'm trying to run a restore but the 'List Media' is telling me that Index Cache will need to be restored from tape. There is plenty of free space on the IndexCache disk so it's not being pruned.

Having an issue at the minute, where the ECC Server service (5.2 SP5) is not starting (on W2K). When I start it manually, looks like it starts, but falls over in a few seconds - all other services start fine. Have restored the ecc directory from a day when we know it was working, but still...
Does anyone use and have any comments on EMC/Legato AlphaStor?
I'm looking into Networker at the minute, and I'm finding that the general media management is a bit poor. AlphaStor has been suggested to me - is anyone using this is conjunction with Networker or and other backup software?
Thanks

I've a small problem with Networker 7.3.2. I have a Group with 4 storage nodes in it. When I kick off the group only one of the nodes starts to backup, even though there are 3 free drives the other 3 could be using.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm installed a 7.3.2 Storage Node on a Windows 2000 server, but I'm having a problem with the tape drives. I can see 4 drives (IBM LTO-2 in an ACSLS Silo) when I run INQUIRE, but it doesn't show up the hardware path. I've updated to latest IBM tape driver, but nothing.
Any thoughts...
I have a Solaris server with 2 nics installed. One to Network_1 and the other to Network_2. I have all gateways/netmasks setup and I can use both cards. However, I cannot connect to the server from Network_1 unless I disable the nic on Network_2.
Any ideas?
Thanks
