This is driving me crazy, my boss's computer restarts it's self every other day between 1 & 1:30pm without any kind of notice. I've checked the event log, scheduled tasks and there is nothing logged that would explain the restarts. The screen simply goes black and the machine restarts. I...
Just added a new machine to my domain that has a fresh install of XP. The problem is that once I added it to the domain the login is EXTREMLY slow - it seems to be stuck on 'Applying Computer Settings' for anywhere between 2-5 minutes (its never the same amount of time). I checked the group...

We set up a new domain, upgraded our hardware a few weeks and added a new server to host exchange - the migration went smoothly expecpt for one mailbox - the user's contacts were lost/currputed. I was able to restore all but 2 weeks of the users contacts and journal notes from my backup tapes...
Righ now I'm fighting an issue with my open rely settings on my smpt server in exchange. In my que I have like 800 emails in my que, that are junk mail being sent my server and I know somehow I have a setting that is allowing for my mail server to send out junk mail even though I have only...
I have a public folder that is used to accept general mail for our company in which multiple users check and respond to. My issue is that if one user checks/reads a new mail, only for that user is email marked as read, the other users it is still bold/marked as unread. Is there a setting so...
I'm running SBS 2000 and would like to a way to manage static IP addresses from the managment console on the server. (the inventory system is on a SCO based system and some desktop machines need static IPs to communicate w/the Unix server).
Thanks in Advance,

I currently have three mailboxes inwhich multiple have permisions to send from. Right now when a user sends an email on behalf of one of the shared mailboxes (ex: user joe@domain.com sends email as sales@domain.com)the sent email is copied to Sent Items in Joe's mailbox. Is there a way to set...
I am having another problem with the same user’s mailbox after it went through the exmerge process. The first problem was that all the dates for the tasks and appointments defaulted to the same date. Now to make that worse, everytime a new task is set, it does not keep the date for the...
I recently had to restore a user's mailbox, everything is there except that the dates and times on the user's tasks and reminders all defaulted (?) to the same date. Is there anyway to fix this? This user's reminders are SUPER IMPORTANT and it is a great loss if this info cannot be recovered...
On a virus scan last night, Symantec Corp edition detected Backdoor.Dvldr on one my machines. The scan report states: Clean Failed, Quarantine Failed The virus started 4/16/03. I checked the Norton site and very little is noted about it. I downloaded the latest virus def, how do I clear it out...
I am recieving a critical warning from my DC that it is out of Logical memory. I checked all the running processes and the proxy service, W3PROXY.exe, is using over 123,000k - is this normal for this service? I'm running SBS 2K with SP3.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated,
Ryan
I was going over the security log and it is flooded with failure audits! I have never seen this before and I go over the logs on a daily basis. Here are a couple of the log descriptions:

I'm trying to add a Mac OS10 machine to our domain but I cannot get it to logon to the domain or connect to the W2k server. I added the computer to the AD, is there any other settings I need to change? I am able to connect to our UNIX server using the user's windows logon name and password...
I run SBS 2000 sp3 with Exchange sp2 - last night after making some changes with Message Queing, the SMTP service would stop, no errors in the event log about it, and when I would try and restart it I would get an error that the service was already running. I removed the SMTP service from te...
I came into work on this great Saturday morning to see the event viewer log filled with errors from exchange. the Event ID is 1010. Here is a copy of the description:

Has anyone applied the fix for a 2000 server that had PCanywhere 9.0 installed on it, 921UP.exe? Did it work, any problems? Any suggestion would be great, our DC is messed up!
Thanks,
Ryan
I'm trying to dial into the 2000 Server from an XP machine. Upon making the connection, the modem hangs (goes silent) and then I loose my connection. I can connect fine through my 2000 machine, but why not XP? Also, I've always had problems connecting XP machines to the network.
What is the registry entry to allow the server to be shutdown without a user to be logged on? I need this so that the server can be restarted from the logon screen.
Thanks,
Ryan
