I just started having this issue where I can't connect to my workstation from any other box -- RDP, file shares, PING....nothing
Wireshark shows incoming SYN requests, but that's it.
I have no problems RDPing to other machines or connecting to file shares etc.
Updated by NICs to the latest...
Could someone please verify if this server has a true full-length expansion slot available? That is, will it accomodate a card that is 31.2cm long?
Thanks very much.
I would like to route messages that come from the outside to a gateway address.
For example, when someone sends a message to alarms@mycompany.com, the message should be routed to [OCTELAN:1234] so the Exchange gateway that handles that address type can process the message.
I have tried routing...
Here's something that used to work for us before yesterday, and I don't know what changed. Our fax server sends SMTP messages to our users by only specifying the sender address as "FACSys Fax Connector@". As I said, this always worked. Now, Exchange 2003 is rejecting the messages with the error...
I would like to be able to open up a new window on a network file share (a DFS root specifically) and use alternate domain/username/password credentials that are entered by the user as part of the script. Is this possible? Thanks.
I have been testing throughput on my 1711 router, and it seems to be limited to 10mb/sec. I've tried setting the "speed" parameter on the interfaces, but even if I force it to "100", file transferes are still locked at 10. Any ideas? Thanks.
I would like to be able to use my 1711 router without NAT. Basically, I just want the device to route between two networks: 20.0.0.x on the inside and 10.0.0.x on the outside. I have no NAT rules, no static routes configured; just VLAN1. I am able to communicate fully from the 10.0.0.x network...
I'm running Outlook 2003, and I'm having a lot of strange problems. Here's a rundown:
1. I cannot add a personal folder file. When I try to do so, the only thing that shows up in the selection of storage types is "Microsoft Exchange Server"
2. If I try to add another mail profile, I get the...
I've been at this all day and have gotten nowhere. We have a new Cisco 1711 router, and all I want to do is be able to access our internal LAN and the Internet through this router from the single laptop I have connected to the first port. The router is able to obtain DHCP info from our internal...
I was running dcdiag on my three DC's this morning and noticed that they all fail the "services" test because "RPCLOCATOR service is stopped". This has never come up before, and my understanding is that the RPC Locator service is not required (which is why it's set to Manual by default). Any...
I've noticed that when the screen saver is activated (i.e. just the normal "Windows XP" logo screen saver), the hard drive will periodically start going, sometimes for a minute or two. I can't seem to figure out exactly what Windows is doing. Any ideas? Probably some background...
I just received two new Maxtor 80GB SATA drives from Newegg, and I noticed on the drive labels that the drives seem to have been made by IBM. I see "IBM Warranty Void If Removed" near the barcodes at the bottom, along with other references to IBM. Is this correct, or am I reading this...
We're interested in the 2650 PowerEdge servers, but we need to be 100% certain that ANY expansion card that is designated as "PCI-X" will work in these machines. Can anyone shed some light on this? Are there differences in the PCI-X spec that I should be aware of? Thanks.
Our Exchange 2000 server has 1GB memory, and the store.exe process is taking up over 800MB of that. Is this normal? If I restart the server, that process begins by using a paltry 10MB, but over the next 12 hours or so, that usage will climb to over 800MB. There are no errors in the event logs...
I have set up newsgroups on our Exchange 2000 server. I can post messages from Outlook Express, and those messages show up when I view the newsgroup from Outlook XP. However, posts that I make to newsgroups from Outlook XP do not show up in Outlook Express. Any ideas? Thanks.
I just upgraded one of our workstations to Office 2003, and I've found that Outlook 2003 is exceptionally slow in connection to our Exchange 2000 server. Outlook 2000 and XP clients connect almost instantaneously, but the 2003 version takes upwards of 30 seconds.
I upgraded our Exchange server...
Can someone please tell me if there are any third-party tools that will allow me to create/manage/diagram databases as easily for SQL Server as for Access?
I'm currently developing a pretty complex SQL database by creating it first in Access and using the Upsizing wizard, but I've found that...
I have written an application for our Citrix server that is designed to allow users to see all of the print jobs that are in progress for all sessions. Unfortunately, WMI will only return a coomplete list if the user is a local administrator. I don't want to use "runas" in order to...
I am trying to schedule a backup by going to Management/Backup/Backup a Database and assigning a schedule. The problem is, every time I try to assign a backup to a schedule and hit Ok, I don't see anything scheduled...anywhere. I'm worried that these tasks I'm scheduling are hidden somewhere in...
