I have a AD domain with about 40 users on it. I had to wipe a Win 98 machine and install XP Pro on it. Joined the PC to the domain with no issue. User signs in and gets access to her mapped drives fine.
The next day, either if the PC is logged out or shut down, the user logs into the domain...
On two out of 35 of the citrix clients we have, when the user trys to print in citrix, his default printer changes to some other random printer rather than the default printer on his machine. His default printer is a network printer. When he prints locally, the default is always correct, so it...
My VPN Software doesn't like the QOS Packet Scheduler. I was curious if there was a way to disable (uncheck) the network service or uninstall the QOS through either a EXE or a batch file. It's not the QOS in services that's the problem either....The actual network service has to be disabled. Any...
We are going to be doing a DR at Sunguard but the test hardware is not the same as the production box that we took the backups off of. I'm running 2000 server SP4 with Arcserve 9. I know that dis-similiar hardware was a problem for NT4 and I've heard conflicting arguements about 2000. Can...
I tested out a group policy for SUS yesterday and certain test PC's screen resolution changed from 1024X768 to 800X600 after a reboot. I thought the policy was the same as the Default domain policy except for the Windows Update options. Anyone run into this issue?
(XP machines, AD running on...
I'm having an issue, it's actually with SUS, but I'm hoping somebody can help out. I set up the SUS server, have a GPO in active directory all set up. I know that function is working because I can deny access to the Windows update site and the test group can't get to the website anymore. I have...
I've been telling my company for a while to get some sort of patch management system and they have stalled forever on it. Now, thanks to blaster and welchia, they are forging ahead and wanting patch management ASAP. I was curious on a whole what the likes and dislikes of SMS are and if there is...
All of the PDC's and BDC's besides this last one have been upgraded to a AD mixed mode without a hitch. I get to the last BDC and I get the following error:
Operation Failed:
Domain either does not exist or cannot be contacted.
When attempting to do a system restore on Windows XP, I get an error message telling me to free up more drive space (200 megs). My harddrive had 60 gigs free. Any Ideas?
Hoping somebody has an answer for this one...
Some users I Create their home drives in AD without a hitch...
But certain users when I create the home drive I get this error:
The home folder could not be created because:There is a time difference between the client and server
For those users...
When a user presses his back button on IE6, the status bar down the bottom reads 127.0.0.1 ....He doesn't get to the previous page, it just reads Done. He must press back 3 or 4 times until finally it works.
Has anybody seen this before?
I thought the CCNA was still at 2.0 for the version Number.
I just read info on a site that made mention to the 3.0 exam.
Can someone clear this up for me?
Is the any other way besides modifying the default Group Policy (or creating a new one)to give a user rights to "Join this computer to the domain". I have a domain user that needs to add and remove his laptop daily from the AD domain(to go moonlight somewhere else).
Any Ideas?
Is there anyway to login to 2 different domains using XP?
The user has a new laptop and he works for two different offices. Both of these offices are on different domains and not associated in any way.
I customized IE6 using IEAK and now when I open a new brower window by Clicking on a link it open to a blank page with a blank address...I tried reinstalling IE6 over it and it still keeps the IEAK options with the same issue.
I really don't wanna reinstall XP just over this little...
I'm really lost on this issue and can really use any help.
The PDC froze the other night and I brought it back up the next morning. When it came back some workstation's couldn't ping the PDC and one of the BDCs by name. We have DNS setup on a separate server and DNS was functioning for all other...
I have a issue where we want to resolve NDS using IP over frame. I'm assuming the way to do it would be either: NWHOST file or DNS. We can get a Windows 95 and 98 pc to work using the host file. The problem is Windows 2000 PRO doesn't use a NWhost file. I also tried different Netware Clients...
I have three servers local, one of which is being retired. The other two are a Bordermanager (with NDS signon authentication to get though the proxy) and a new server that has the main replica on it. When I shut down the old server, it takes almost 2 Minutes for Bordermanager to accept the user...
I deleted 10 huge mailboxes of users that are no longer here during "spring cleaning". When I did this I assumed the space on the Hard Drive would change. It did not. Since hard drive space is limited on this server and it has to last until the new server is shipped in I was wondering...
