my query results in a situation like this:

i don't want to see the row which has 'yellowx'.
I want the query to only show me the first row in a group of rows where 'name' & 'letter' are the same.

Many of the cells are blank. I want these cells to have the same value as the nearest non-blank cell above them.

when i output my report to a .txt file, Access puts in random blank lines.
I have read that a remedy is to make the line size divisible by 8 but that still doesn't seem to work . perhaps i'm doing it wrong?
