I know that the PRI loops are tied to their position in hardware, can a route be any number or should it be tied to something - either for clarity or for hardware reasons. (I haven't done any route programming for 18 years....)
We have an Opt 81c at our main site and an Opt 11c at a remote site. We have always had a T1 between them. All calls at the remote site use this T1. Due to telco issues, the T1 is not as reliable as we would like. I have added another T1 circuit between the 2 sites(different carrier...
I have a network switch that has started to generate alarm in iMC. the ping times to reach the switch range from 1ms up to 473ms. (The switch is connected with a 1 Gbps fiber link into an A7500 core.) I ran a ping plotter graph and the resp. times run around 1ms, but once every minute they...
I am going nuts. This is something that I do all the time. The last 2 times I have tried it, I had the same problem. HP Networking s7910 (like the 7500 switch, just before HP renamed it). going from a 1gig SFP gbic to another 1gig SFP Gbic - IN THE SAME ROOM.
Read this before replying and...
We are switching Telephone Providers and the new provider only supplies loop start lines. Since I am connecting them to an Option 11c, ground start lines seem to work best (disconnect timing has always been an issue with Loop Start). Does anyone know of a device that can convert a Loop start...
Does anyone out there have any specfics on how to use SIP Trunks to Connect our ShoreTel switches to our Nortel CS1000? We currently use a dual T1 connection (S/T T1K's to N/T PRI's which works fine), but I purchased SIP Trunk licenses on both systems to test with so I can move ahead in...
It has been over 10 years since I went to Nortel School and I just cant remember how to do this since it doesnt come up very much. I have an Option11c (or CS1000e as it is called now). I have another trunk card that I need to install. Do I have to do anything with Common Equipment to tell the...
LOOKING FOR ANY ODD TIPS/TRICKS FOR 7900 series
- Here's why:
We are having an unbelieveable time with 10Gig XFP transceivers in a new s7910e chasis. It now appears that they are NOT hot pluggable (although SOME of the XFPs are..) I know how crazy that sounds and I could fill a book with...
I have a small, nagging feature/issue with Visio that I was wondering if anyone has a solution for. When I create a text box, shape, or line, I would like the pointer to automatically change back to the "arrow" tool so I can maninpulate what I just created without having to move the pointer...
Does anyone know any resource/tool/company that can give a fair market value of an installed Nortel Opt 81c + 3 Opt11c systems? We just found out our former boss financed our telephone system with a FMV buyout clause (instead of a $1.00 buyout) As the system has a much longer useful life than...
Does anyone know if having 8648TXE (enhanced cards that support multicasting) and 8648TX cards in the same passport is supported? We are having some wierd troubles with our passports and just noticed it.
What is stopping someone from bringing in a wireless router (like the kind people use at home to connect to the Internet), plugging it into my network and then allowing unprotected wireless access to anyone in their area? If my network just sees the device as another IP address and does not...
We have a BCM that the volume is too low and ALL of the users are complaining. I have tried both settings (system and set volume) to no avail. Is there a hardware setting inside the box to adjust the volume????
We have 3900 series phones attached to an 81c that sometimes need to not ring, just flash the light. All we can do is turn the volume low, but not mute it. If we make the line SCN, the light does not light at all.
