I run Server 2 K. Since I started active directory there is no icon on desktop to let me know that there are some outside clients online via VPN or RAS. I cannot find anyplace to switch this on? any ideas please/

I run W2kserver SP3. recently when I reboot RAS does not start automatically. When I try to start manually it refuses, message re internal error. How do I force RAS to start please?
