I'm interested in getting my MCITP. Does anyone know of a good online site that offers computer based training, practice tests, and will help track my progression through the programs?
I figure that the 2 hours between my kid's bedtime and mine would be much better spent on training instead...
A vendor suggested to me that we could collect call logs if we setup a SMDR collector and software, which he quoted at <$1000.
It seems an RJ45 to serial connector's really all that's required to recieve these logs. Is there open source freeware or shareware software for collecting and...
We've got a legend system with merlin messaging. I'm not very familiar with the stuff, but there's a bunch of 012 boards, a 100D, and a few 012 boards.
Can I get caller ID to show on our mlx-10d handsets? We're running magix 2.1, winSPM 6, merlin messaging 2.5.... I would think it is all...
Every inbound SMTP conversation on my exchange server ends in a 240 status. Is this normal? I know 2.x.x status codes indicate 'Success' generally... but 2.4.0 indicates 'Other or undefined network or routing status'. I thought the 250 was the normal result for the QUIT command.
I've got journaling setup on my Exchange 2003 Sp2 server. We are having occasional emails that get sent to us via SMTP, which get received my the MTA, and they get routed to the journaling mailbox, but not the user the message was destined for.
The time this happend the most is with a...
We've got a web app here that used reporting services. Their programmers have coded every report that runs to create a new report in a temp_reports folder. They never come back and delete these.
I've got 30,000 reports in that temp folder now, and ~12GB tied up in them. You can imagine I...
Ok, here's the network, 63.19.67.0/25
The router is 63.19.67.1
The firewall's external interface is 67.19.67.1
This firewall's external interface is 63.19.67.3
The firewall is in front of 2 webservers. One is 63.19.67.32.
There is a FTP server behind the router, and in front of he...
I just upgraded a Mac 10.3.9 machine to 10.5. Now the thing won't let us see network shares from a program's 'Open' dialog box. I'm able to go to the network share and open the file, and edit it, and save it. When I try a 'save as' it can't connect to the share.
Before the upgrade we could...
I'm having weird problems with the Macs on my networktrying simple file/folder operations. Here's the situation.
In the share they're attached to, they've got a few levels of folders, all legally named. They want to rename one of the folders, but the server tells them they don't have...
I am planning on installing MOSS2007 on an existing web server. This web server is not currently in an active directory domain, and is using local users and groups for authentication in the web application.
What would happen if the server joined a domain? Would SharePoint break? Would...
I'm pretty new to certifications, and wonder if there's anywhere I could learn what might be the best for me. Microsoft's site is heavy on the marketing and talk, but not very helpful with any actual information that can be digested by someone unfamiliar with the programs.
I would go to a...
I know that Microsoft lists 3 way to shrink a tempdb...
http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?id=307487
But these aren't working. I don't get errors, but the 2 data files that make up the tempdb don't get smaller. The 2 temp logs are the right size though, so I think I'm doing it right...
In a SQL2000/MRSS server I've got a report that prints outisde the printable area of my printer, which is like .17 left and right and .2 on top and .3 on the bottom. The problem is the report itself is set to 8.5 x 11 and the margins are set at .25 left and right and .5 top and bottom. Given...
I've got my domain's user drives mapping to \\server\share\%username%. This is accomplished through the profile tab of their domain user account. I select the 'Connect' radio button in the 'Home Folder' section, and input something like, '\\server\share\jsmith' to connect to the U:\ drive...
Is there a way to force all messages, including internal, through an SMTP server? Even Groupwise's SMTP server is fine.
You might've guessed that I'm interesting in archiving all email for legal reasons.
Thanks--
Our Cisco 3005 device authenticates logins with our ADS server. (ADS server = 10.120.8.9 in log entry below) One user that was given VPN access and was having no problems. Suddenly this user is unable to login.
First thing I checked was that the user wasn't locked out and they are not. I've...
We've moving our users from Netware's OES 6.5 to our Windows 2003 domain. I am trying to login 'workstation only' and get drives mapped to the CIFS shares on the Netware server from the ADS login script. The drives map beautifully, but the account gets intruder locked out shrotly after login...
Today in my 'My Network Places > Entire Network > Microsoft Windows Network' there's a new domain or workgroup. I can't see this system using browcon or browstat. Packet sniffing the conversation that takes place when querying this list only shows my machine doing a netbios broadcast asking...
I seem to have some problems with Session Directory and the Netware client (v4.91), which is installed on both my terminal servers.
The problem occurs when someone tries to reconnect to a disconnected session. If the terminal server that recieves their login request is not the one they left...
