I needed to restart the information store
So I of course stopped it...It nows says stopping(has said so for a few hours) but has not stopped..ie. it is still running...
Any ideas on what to do a bit afraid to restart the Exchange Box

One of our servers has decided to eat itself!
The machine when turned on will go through post and get to the blue screen before log on and then restart and go throughthe whole thing again the blue screen itself looks fine and reports no errors

I have enabled file auditing on a network to find out who is deleting some files.
working OK but I dont want to see user "system" in the event log as it creates a lot of events
at the moment I have "Domain Users" to be audited

I wish to create a message box (eg Use this machine for work bla bla)to appear before the logon screen I done this with NT HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

I strange one I think....
Running an NT4 File server with 98 /2000 /NT Clients..
If a client is accessing the server and there machine crashes they end up deleting files that they were accessing plus more from the file server.....
The files in question are full access which is what I want...
I am running a single domain network with NT Servers
We have win98 W2k and NT4 on the client side.
One of our switches died this week and it became nesesry to reboot our PDC(NT server)
Since this reboot the only machine showing up in Network neighborhood in the same PDC prior to this all...
