Hello all -
Equipment is G3RV12, S8700, CM 2.2. We have transitioned to VOIP and need to decommission the Avaya for turn in. We are not under maintenance support / contract.
Can anyone advise the process for stripping all the data from the Avaya prior to final shutdown?
Any help is...
As the subject stated:
Avaya Definity G3R running CM 2.2. We are transitioning to VoIP and have a tie trunk between the Avaya and VoIP stack. Avaya dialplan range is 3000-6999. VoIP DN pool is 0000-2999. Dialplan and UDP have the 1000 series set up as extensions as a test to attempt...
Avaya Definity G3R, CM 2.2
Situation - integrating trunk between VOIP stack and Avaya, trying to create call in patterns for trunk/trunk transfer to local cell service.
Stations are created as 4 digit extensions. Trunks are set to absorb the first 3 incoming digits. If the absorption is...
In my most recent thread, I was setting up an E1 ISDN link between our local Avaya and a Cisco router. We've gotten the devices talking but we are having calling issues.
Running trace tac, the original call attempts from outside only showed the first two digits coming in; local number pool is...
Trying to figure out how to get a trunk up/running between Avaya Definity G3R (CM 2.2) and a Cisco 3845 with an E1/T1 HWIC installed.
DS1 (TN464F card) trunk is set for ISDN-PRI (E1), signalling group and trunk created. Type is ISDN, A-law in use. Cisco G/W can see signal but the two sides are...
Definity G3R V12, CM 2.2
EPN is a single shelf.
Test environment shows Test 117 Abort, Test 118 Fail. Error and alarm logs show Ring Gen entries for the cabinet. All stations fail test 48.
Have swapped out maintenance board, tone/clock board and power supply with no change.
Not sure what...
Hello all -
We have two G3csiV7 switches. One is active at a customer location and one is spare, recovered from a decommissioned customer site.
We have to move the active switch to a different location at the customer site. Since we have to run new cabling to support the move, the boss...
DTMF tones coming from the local vendor have distortion/static and are truncated. Problem occurs with any inbound call, landline or cell.

Have an odd problem -
We have a service desk that utilizes a vector-driven hunt group. On an inbound call, an initial announcement is played, then the customer can keypress for routing.
Today, the initial announcement no longer plays for the inbound calls ONLY on our ISDN trunk. There is no...
Hello all -
Proposal is in the works to convert some customers to VOIP. Plan is to have local call manager(s) tied into the Definity.
Switch is a G3RV12, S8700, CM 2.2, single pnc, unduplicated - is it possible to interface with a VOIP call manager, and what would be needed to do so?
Thanks!
We've had a recurring problem with an EPN at a customer location. EPN becomes unreachable with an 'FE' error shown when 'status health' command is issued. Have been able to restore service by busying out the fiber link and SNI at the PPN, but the customer is still down until that is done...
I have a remote switch (Definity RMC-CSI running G3 csi V7)(vice versa?) that currently is only locally administered.
The terminal is directly connected to the switch.
I am attempting to update station records, but cannot get the switch to accept the change - does anyone have a list of...
More snags with the night service transfer.
We have a standalone switch in a physically separate location. Both the local network and remote switch are the same prefix (781). Dialplan is 4 digit dialing at both locations.
Issue: List trace tac shows attendant console calls coming in as...
Ok, guys...another question from the local idiot:
The operator's hours may be changed in the near future. If so, we will need to answer calls to "0" at night. Operator positions are 'normal' attendant consoles, phone where we would cover at night are 6408D+ with 2 buttons open.
Switch setup...
As a cost savings measure, we have been tasked to remove stations that are abandoned/idle.
Is there any way to find out the date of the last call made to/from a station?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello all,
I'm trying to completely remove 2 EPNs from a location that is being taken down.
We're running into issues with attempting to remove the SNI board(s). Switch is a G3RV12, S8700, CM 2.2, single pnc, unduplicated.
All stations and station boards have been removed from both EPNs...
Hello everyone -
Working with our business provider to remove an EPN and have hit a snag.
I was instructed to remove all stations from the EPN, then remove all station boards. At this point, EPN showed the Expansion Interface, Call Classifier and Maint/Test boards and nothing else. Display...
G3R upgraded to CM 2.2
Switch is standalone, no network (internet) connections. Synch sources are DS1 circuit packs. Being a G3, cannot time-sync to ASA computer.
Time stamp is 12 minutes slow. No offsets in time synch under the tools/maintenance tab.
If I set time in maintenance access...
After setting up the 'hot loop' mentioned in my other post, management wants to automate our local Help Desk.
We have 5 techs on a day shift working 6 days/week with 7 day coverage (not every tech works every day). Nights, the number is forwarded to another shop for limited coverage...
Background: Customer needed a group hotline (group call for emergency response situations). Created a hunt group to ring the phones and a vector to bring them into a meet-me conference.
Question: How can I keep other users from dialing the hunt group number and mistakenly triggering the...
