One of my users with an open wireless home network told me that she suddenly started seeing sentances being typed in her email, and she was not the one doing it. Is it possible that this could be overlap from another wireless network, say if someone was on the same channel? Would you think it...
I am not sure if I am missing something, but I cannot make a connection to the exchange server. It just seems to timeout. Is my IPPOOL ok to use? Thanks!

Is it acceptable to use the same range as your LAN in the IP POOL? I have a Cisco 501. Can you give me the good and the bad about using the same overlaping IP addresses? For instance. I am using the VPN client 4.x with IPSEC on a 501 3DES.
IP Pool
192.168.100.1-192.168.100.50

Here is my setup.
Adtran CSU/ROUTER T1 bundle 624----LinkSys Switch----Network
The ISP issued us a block of 15 IP addresses. So the subnet is 255.255.255.240, and Gateway is x.x.x.209.
Everything works great if you do 1 IP per 1 Interface, say 6 Public IPs and 6 Servers.
I am having an issue...
we have a block of public IP addresses that were assigned to use by our ISP. Currently, we do not have a router. So we have several IP like 207.x.x.200-222. Well, the current firewall is doing proxy arp, and/or IP forwarding.
So like x.x.x.215 00-EE-A0-00-A0
and nextx.x.x.x216 00-EE-A0-00-A0...
I was wondering if anyone could provide suggestions on where to start with my wireless network.
I just started with a new company, and they have 3 access points with no security. The Access points are on the same IP address as the servers. Basically we are broadcasting everything that happens...
My authentication via XAUTH now works, but I cannot access the lan. I tried doing a split tunneling, it allowed me to surf the internet, but it seems I cannot do anything else, (access servers).
My Lan 10.10.0.0
My IP Pool 192.168.100.x
My XAUTH Server 10.10.0.x
I must be missing something...
I set up the pix client software, to connect to my 501 3DES. Everything worked great, it connects. Now I want to configure XAuth, and I am am somewhat confused. Does the Radius server use the same username and password key that I gave to the VPNGroup on the pix? My firewall is connected directly...
I am using a cisco 501 with 3DES 10 user. I know you can set a 3DES VPN connection between 2 site, but can you use 3DES with the client VPN sofware? I am using the Cisco VPN client 4.x. Also, is IPSEC the best way to go? We are a small office and would like to gain access to the intranet...
I would like to know what the best and easiest way to allow users to VPN into the office by VPN using a pix 501. Is it as simple as configuring the VPN client software, and they authenticate to the pix? I tried to buy a book, Cisco Pix VPN, but it talks mostly about site-to-site and I am more...
Hi,
I just configured my 501, It seems to work, i just wanted to ask for someone to review it. I am not sure if i should use the 255.255.255.240 mask everywhere. Is there anything I can approve upon? I think i need to add a forwarding DNS server? Or maybe point it to my inside DNS since that is...
Hello,

This is a really dumb question but, I am running Checkpoint 2000 SP5. I need to change the password for outside users coming into VPN. I see "checkpoint configuration" in the programs section, but it doesn't have a VPN tab. I think i need to access it by using voyager? My question is...
I have a windows 2000 Server with Checkpoint 4.1 SP5 running. Someone told me that there is a bug, that when you reboot the firewall, that the VPN will not work. That is exactly what happened, I can get to the internet, but I cannot accept incoming VPN connections. I am getting weird errors like...
I want to buy a pix, my network has many Public IPS that i need to map on the firewall to internal web servers. (one-to-one NAT) Does the 501 do this the same as the 515? According to Cisco Press pix book, they didnt mention a difference in the way they handle the transactions. I currently have...

We have a 012 board on our Merlin Legend system. There is a top bank with 6 analog ports, and a bottom bank with 6 analog ports. The top 6 ports do not work correctly, and seem to be "restricted". is there any procedure in opening these up? I cannot make long distance calls on these...
I set up a new router on a T1. Got the serial int working, and plugged in a workstation to test the internet. It works fine. I was giving a pool of IP addresses, so i used 1 for the ethernet interface, and the other 1 I used on the server (which i want to be the web server) and then i pointed...
