I have until the end of February to get a test in to renew all my certs. Obiviously worked too hard to let it lapse. Been slowly working on the CCIE RS written..I have a fall back if necessary, but for my own gain, would like to get through the written.
Anyone out there have any suggestions...
pretty sure I know the answer to this, but am just wanting to verify quick since I can't find an answer anywhere quickly. Here is my setup:
R1<---1gbps link--->Provider Equipment<---150mbps--->Provider Equipment<---1gbps link--->R2
Been having some traffic issues, and needing to apply some...
One more down yesterday, just TUC to go. Anyone have any suggestions on study resources? Didn't know if Troubleshooting Cisco IP Telephony is still a relevant study resource or not. I see it is a bit old.
Big changes on the Cisco Voice front:

Decisions for me now on how quick to try and knock out the last 2 exams on the current track.
So after bombing my attempt at Cisco Live, I'm trying to get geared back up for it again. I've read through the Cisco Press book once, and am planning on giving it a 2nd pass shortly. Also have been using the INE CCVP bootcamp on demand video. Anyone have any other suggestions.
Just read the chapter on device mobility and came up with a question. Might be further in my readings, but thought I'd pose the question out here anyways. Scenario I'm picturing is a roaming user using Cisco IP Communicator. Let's say for example, the CIPC is connected back over a VPN while...
anybody out there have a good method to estimate the length of a patch cable within or between a couple of 2 post racks using cable management? Got some new cable closets being built out and need to estimate how many of what lengths cables I need and can't come up with a good way of doing it yet.
I just ran across this. Don't know how well it would really work, but does look like an easy solution to mount your lab equipment.

We've been using the DOS matworx on one of our 2000 NEC systems because of some other issues with the Matworx studio and a possible corrupt time slot....anyways, the DOS Mat keeps locking up on us and don't really have an idea why. Anyone run into this before or have any ideas for us? We've...
Haven't done this yet, but curious what impacts there may or may not be to enabling SNMP access on the 2400IPX switch. What sort of monitoring does it give us?
Something just not making much sense to me right now and hoping someone can tell me if I have it or not. Going through the section on partitions and css's and the examples of "keys and locks." Am I understanding correctly that if Phone A has a "lock" on it, and Phone B does not have the "key"...
I'm asking this for our telecom guy, but is there away to move a station from one LENS to another without having to delete and recreate all the speed dials, call forwarding, key programming information?
We've seen an option for it on the older 2000's, but can't find anything in our 2400.
Have...
Well, it took too many attempts, but I finally did it. Used the exam cert guide and the quick reference guides by Kevin Wallace, some online training had through work, as well as the CLN, and a few other resources. Not going to say it was hard, but was tough. Found mistakes in material (get...
In case anyone is interested, Cisco is offering a beta of V4.0 for the CCIE R&S Written:
https://cisco.hosted.jivesoftware.com/community/certifications/ccie_routing_switching/written_exam?tab=4
Only $50, but won't get results for 6-8 weeks.
The beta version of CCIE Routing and Switching...
Anyone out there know where I could find a Cisco Call Manager VM? Or good instructions on how to set one up in VM? We are trying to set one up for lab here, and not having much luck.
Thanks
Have CME 7/Unity Express system that for some reason now the MWI lamp is not synchronizing properly. I can do a refresh of the MWI, and it toggles on/off on the phone properly. Found a few documents that talk about synchronization, but they are for older systems. Hoping someone might have a...
Well..2nd attempt (and hopefully final) on friday. Used The Cisco Press Cisco Voice over IP book by Kevin Wallace. Was pretty good, but found many mistakes, so get the errata for it. Some were just examples, others were really confusing because the explanation didn't match the example.
Also...
ok..got something that is causing me some grief in understanding. Translation rule for CVoice. What the book is saying is this:
rule 1 /\(9\)\([^01].*\)/ /\11408\2/
input of 95550134
output of 914085550134
What has me stumped is how ([^01].*\) matches the 5550134. Hopefully someone can...
