    'Make MDE file' not accessible

    I want to create an MDE version of my Access 2000 MDB. But the MDE choice on my Database Utilities is greyed out. All other choices are accessible. I have also checked and compiled my VBA code and trawled almost everywhere to see if I've unchecked a box somewhere. No joy. Suggestions, please.
