Wierd. I'm going along just fine--doesn't matter where I am (application, Windows Explorer, whatever), and all the sudden the screen goes blue. No error messages, just turns blue. I reboot, and all is normal again--until the next time. I ran an up-to-date virus check--nothing. Any ideas?

Every once in a while, the task bar on my Windows XP desktop turns black for a few seconds, then returns to normal. The last time, the task bar just stayed black, and I had to reboot because neither the mouse nor the keyboard would register on anything except the start button. It doesn't happen...
I upgraded a machine from Windows 98SE to Windows 2000 Professional and then installed SP4. Ever since then, I have not been able to send attachements of any size, and even large emails (lots of graphics and/or text). Small attachments ( < 100Kb, for instance) seem okay. This happens not only in...
I am trying to install an 80GB HD. Even though I used the auto detect in CMOS and it reported the proper size there, fdisk finds only 18GB, as does format.
BIOS is Award v.6 00PG, and I am using a Windows 98 Startup disk. Since it is a Western Digital, however, I even tried to use WD's Data...
Doggone it, the mobo to my personal computer died. It belonged to a Micron P2 400 MMX Slot 1. I have left over a couple PC100 SDRAM sticks (256 MB total), my TNT2 video card and Diamond S100 sound card, and a 56K v.90 ISA modem that just smokes (well, it did).
What I found for a replacement...
Here's another one: When I try to open certain programs (most), Windows 98 is trying to open multiple programs at the same time and locking up. The programs do not get opened. It is like two people trying to put a key into a keyhole. Only one will work but if the two can get started, then...
I'm sure I could find the answer to this problem myself, but perhaps I can more quickly get it from someone here who already knows.
When I click the PIF icon to a DOS-based game (Playmaker Football--remember that?) on one of my second computers, and it reboots into the game, the introductory...
It is a 288 Data+Fax+Voice+Voiceview. I have been everywhere--Compaq's site, pcdrivers.com, driverguide, windrivers. Compaq must have sold more than one of these; someone out there must have a driver. Or perhaps someone knows of a generic driver that works. I have heard that it is a Rockwell...
In Win98, of course, you can stop TSRs from running through MSCONFIG. But Win95 offers no such luxury. I know about the Start Menu, but many of them are not listed there. So how can I achieve the same thing in Win95 that I can through MSCONFIG in Win98?
