    PNG does not preserve scanned image dpi resolution?

    I've just started scanning pictures using PhotoShop and TWAIN. I've been saving to PNG format. I noticed that Photoshop6 does not preserve the dpi resolution of the scan. However, JPG does preserve the dpi resolution. Is this PNG's fault or Photoshop's? thanks!
