Hi Everyone,
I am using MS Query/Excel to build a query, and due to the data structure there is some "Or" logic involved. And for all three sets of criteria, I use a parameter for the start date.
The problem is that if I use three [Enter Start Date] parameters (one for each set of criteria)...
When one of my clients runs a Crystal Report, it is taking forever to load!
His email reads: "I found that the variable that the report is using is the %HOMEDRIVE% variable. [Cut for boring and probably useless stuff here] I would really like to change the report to write data to the %TEMP%...
I work on MS Word Merge docs (usually XP). They are designed based on a query of a SQL database and the query brings back rows containing the following three pieces of data - Date/Category/Number. I am able to do a table like thus:
Date Sale Type Number of Sales
Aug 7 Chocolate 7
Aug...
I am building various word merge documents and have fields like "final_amount". Some of my clients want there to be a statement such as "If you cancel within 30 days of the event, you are charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the final amount [insert the actual calculation here]".
I can't seem...
I cannot for the life of me locate a way to make, say, "beverly hills" into "Beverly Hills", in 8.5. I tried titlecase() and even leadingcaps() (after finding references to it on the Crystal website) but all I can manage to make work for me is uppercase() and lowercase().
Am I missing...
This is probably a terribly basic question, but I am very new to Word merge.
If I need a field in a Word Document called "Guaranteed_People" and my query contains <<guaranteed_adults>> and <<guaranteed_children>>, is there some sort of Sum() function I can use to get the result I need, or can...
Am using 8.5, and am looking to put three columns, side by side - Budget, Actual, and Last Year Actual. The last year actual is in the same table as the current actual, and therefore the only way I can figure out how to do it is by subreport and shared variable.
The thing is, I can't figure...
Wondering if anyone knows how to comment out entire sections of code in a formula.
Each line can be commented out by // and in some languages you can do:
/*Here is the text I want to not be evaluated*/
Does Crystal have such a thing, because commenting out a hundred lines of code one by one...
I have designed a report where Page Footer "a" prints no matter what. Page Footers "b" and "c" are conditional - either one will print based on a field in the report.
Here's the question: the footer is taking up the entire space for sections a through c - like it's reserving the space for the...
I am placing a pale image in the header of a Crystal 8.5 document and checking the "Underlay Following Sections" box, so as to create a watermark. Here's the problem - all the text is fine but it's not underlaying any of the lines drawn into the document (it's a form)...all the lines appear to...
I am attempting to take a fairly stark black and white image and turn it into a washed out image, suitable for inserting into a Crystal report so it will appear as a watermark. I just downloaded the program today, and this is a bit of a rush project for my boss, so I am wondering of someone can...
Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!
I have a query I am writing where I am getting data from another database and the data is in the form of a string - 0.89% and 0.74% (represented below by aa1 and aa2. I need to use that percentage along with another in a calculation and tried this:
TY/LY2...
I have written several reports that print on 11x17 paper. Unfortunately, we only have one 11x17 printer on which to print it, and it is not networked. So I need to know, if I run a report, can the results be e-mailed to the one person who is hooked up to the 11x17 printer so he can print it...
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to create a drop down list/list box on the input box for a parameter query, so users can just choose the criteria instead of having to type it in.
I have a table of criteria to be used for a parameter query and some of them are quite long. I am afraid...
I am wondering if there is a way to do this, and I cannot believe there is not:
I have a table for a month, with several dates, and several times within each date, all in chronological order.
I want to get, say, the block of rows between 03/22/00 at 9 AM and 03/27/00 at 7 PM. I have tried...
Hi there...
This is my first posting, and I could not find anything archived on the subject, so I hope this is not a repeat of a previous thread.
I am attempting to map some data on a chart/graph over a six hour span so that the time is to scale, even if there are gaps in data readings. As...
