how can I change date and time in a VIO Server Partition?
If I call the date command as padmin user I can show the date and time, but if I want to change it say's that I have to be root to change the date and time.
So the question is how to become root or do I have to live with a VIO Sever...
I have several AIX Power5 Servers connected to my HMC.
Some are with AIX 5.2 ML4 some are with AIX 5.3.
But I can not do any DLPAR Operation on any of the connected Systems.
I allways get the following ERROR Message:

I have the problem when removing or adding Memory to a Dynamic LPAR on
a p650 (7038-6M2) the SAP System is going down with "Signal 58".
Does anybody experienced problems like that?
My System is running at AIX 5.2 ML02 and the SAP R/3 Release is 4.0B.
Any help appreciated.

Hi,
I have a p650 and have created 2 Partitions on it.
If I right click the one partition I get the DLPAR Option.
If I right click the other partition I dont't get the DLPAR Option to move
resources in and out the partition. Both Partitons have AIX 5.2 ML1 installed.
Any ideas?

after upgrade my p630 to AIX 5.2 ML01 (update_all) and rebooting my system,
I seem to hang in a reboot loop.
System comes up with normal console messages (last is "starting tcpip daemons")
and after that the system shows the following on it's LCD:

I have a Silver- Thinnode running AIX 5.1 ML3 and PSSP 3.4.
Can I run a 64bit Application on this node like Oracle 9.2?
Or do I need a 64bit Hardware to run 64bit Applications?
Is it enough to run "smitty load64bit", or better asked is that even possible?

I have the following Problem:
7133-D40
1 SSA-Disk out of 12 in this loop is destroyed.
5 other Disks are showing the state missing, but they are still fine (checked with lsqueryvg -Atp hdiskn).
I can not remove the failed Disk (Device busy), but there is no LV on that disk anymore...
