    lsass.exe hogging cpu

    Have a machine running xp where lsass.exe uses 70% to 90% of the cpu for the first 15 to 20 minutes after startup. During this time anything else is very slow but still operates.     Can't read hard drive

    Replaced the motherboard on an HP Pavilion 7935 with a non HP motherboard. It can see the drive and finds the boot sector, signals OK and then STOPS. I've tried repairing Win XP with the install disk and it does it's thing , but when it reboots it stops again right after finding the boot sector...

    Bench test a power supply

    Is there a way to jump out the 20 pin connecter to see if the power supply works. Have jumped out the pins for the start button on the MB but nothing. The only thing I get is the LED on the supply.
