Converting an excel column to a Word list, in this case a list of thousands of names to be formatted in Indesign for a document, I end up with various numbers of extra spaces after each name in the list, all of which have to be deleted row by time-consuming row to make the list usable in...
I need to add lines to a graphic. When I make lines with the pencil tool, the spaces created are filled and swatches gives me no option but to add a color. There's no "nothing" option. How can I make lines without adding fill?
Help appreciated.

I have MS Office 2003,standard, running on Windows XP. I would love to get rid of the Office shortcut bar that always shows up. I understand that the shortcut bar was a feature of Office 97 not included in 2003. I find no remnants of Office 97 on my list of programs. The shortcut bar doesn't...
A simple one: Installing Indesign CS4 and Photoshop Elements 6 did not automatically uninstall ealier versions. Can I safely uninstall them without endangering any files necessary for the newer versions? (I've been using the newer versions for quite a while.)
I have a long, complex document in the works for some time. I need to make a couple of additions, and suddenly all of my swatches are gone from the swatches palette. It won't let me load swatches from another copy of the file becasue it says they are already in the document. How do I restore...

I need to use some images in a document for black and white printing (with one spot color) that I have only in PDF format. As far as I can find, neither Photoshop Elements nor Indesign allow me to convert a color image in PDF format to black and white. Any suggestions appreciated.
I need to find the closest possible process color to a given spot color. Pantone color library info indicates that Adobe makes their comparison charts available to CS2 application users, but I can't find the comparisons. Any help appreciated.

I'd like to be able to use a simple pie chart generated in excel in an InDesign publication. When I paste it in, the resolution is not adequate--highly pixelated edges. Is there a way around this problem or another way of generating a simple pie chart for InDesign without Illustrator?
