    CD-ROM works in 486's but not in new PC's

    I have A diamond-data 36x CD-ROM that worked perfectly on two 486 machines. I upgraded to a P-166Mhz, And then it would not read my CD-RW backup disc unless it was burned at single speed only. I have now upgraded again to a 900Mhz Duron on an Epox M/Board and the CD-ROM refuses to read ANY data...
