We are working on a GPO to lock down a system so that the user can only launch one application. Unfortunately, we can't run the app as the shell because it bombs out (vendor has no idea why) We also have to run the application with the user logged in as a local administrator (once again, vendor...
I have a user who's laptop drive went bad. We can access the file system by plugging into another PC, but the My Doc's folder is encrypted. How do I recover them? It is a domain account and I am a domain admin, but I can't figure out how to import the private key to do the decryption.

I have someone who can not open an xls attachment in an email. It is only one file with a specific file name. If I send the file renamed, but still with an xls extension, it opens fine.
The error message indicates a permissions problem, but no other attachments, excel or otherwise, have this...
I have a user that can't type data into a form on a web page. He is able to copy and paste into the same fields, though. Typing doesn't do anything, though. The cursor just sits there and blinks.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I think I've seen it before, but I can't remember what I had to...
We have an AD 2003 environment here and are in the process of migrating our desktops from 98 to XP. To do it, we reset the user's passwords and migrate the data from the old PC to the new PC with thier profile already set up which requires us to change thier password and log in as them.
I have...
Does anyone know of a reason why a vlookup that returns a valid value when the spreadsheet is opened with Excel 2000 would return a value of N/A when opened with Excel 2003?
I have a user that loses access to his encrypted files every time he changes his password. This happens no matter what method he uses to change it.
- Gets the notice that his password is expiring so he changes it as prompted - breaks encryption
- Uses the change password option after pressing...
We perform a manual cloning operation from the server after the backup completes due to a restore that occurs immediately following the backup. When selecting the "clone save sets" option, the server does not see todays save sets no matter what is selected. It only sees the previous...

Has anyone here ever done a disaster recovery on a server using Networker? From reading the DR manual, I am getting hte impression that they expect you to completely rebuild the server rom scratch, then use Networker to recover files.
Is that really all this software does? I was under the...
I have a recovery that was done on a Netware 5.1 client using Networker v4.15 from an NT4 sp6a server running v6.1.

I'm getting the following error message when I back up my Novell clients:
WARNING: Not closing stdout from {IP ADDRESS;Port}
Anyone else seen this or know what it means. WHen it happens, I lose a stream and it never comes back.

This is a bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can get a storage rack for my DLT tapes? I have one that has run out of space and we are no longer able to get them from our previous provider. Black Box and CDW don't seem to list them.
Thanks for any help.
I have an interesting one. I have to back up one of my Netware clients in a very small window. To do this, I seperate it into three clients with directives to prevent overlapping saves on them. The problem with it is that the client limits itself to 21 of the 26 streams I broke out. I don't mean...

Thanks for any help you can give.

When this backup runs, My two processors spike...
Is there any decent place to look for help Netware directives? Unix and NT directive assistance was difficult to locate, but I have yet to find any place that has any Netware information. The Legato manuals are next to worthless when it comes to this.
