    HACMP Start/Stop scripts

    Hi, My Oracle HACMP stop script utilizes shutdown immediate to bring the db down. I have found on occasion that shutdown abort may be needed to bring the db down. Does anyone have a script that will utilize abort if immediate hangs? Thanks

    chmod question

    When changing the permissions on a file to include set-group-id, ls -l displays an upper case S instead of the lower case s that I expecetd. For example -rwsr-S--x. Why is this? Thanks
